Tyre Wear Analysis Hockenheim?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys , after running a couple tyre wear tests , why is it @Faya that regardless of fuel and Ers Settings , the tyre wear does not generally change alot in different settings. Scripted tyre wear I think for each track ??

If you drive around slow enough you can make it through a lap with under half the % of wear compared to a lap where you're pushing so it's definitely not scripted. I guess it's mostly driving style that matters and how much you stress them.

Why fuel mix doesn't have more effect on wear I'm not sure, running lean should be kind on the rear tyres. Even If the difference is just 0.5% per lap, that would still mean 10% less wear after a 20 lap stint.

Another thing that might be worth trying for rear tyre saving could be a lower dif setting as it has a major effect on traction.

My problem with tyre wear in the game is that it's not very realistic. Soft tyres last too long during a race. In real life, there are some races where soft tyres aren't even used, because it they would only last a few laps. In the game, you can make it pretty far on softs.

In turn, this leads to more pit stops in the game than in real life, because while soft tyres last longer than they should, they still do not last as long as mediums, and so due to the fact that everyone in the game starts on soft tyres, they end up making more pit stops.

This has been an issue for a while now.
