Graphics changes don't apply

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently bought f1 2019 but it seems to be stuck on the lowest graphics settings.
It doesn't change anything when I change the settings. It says it is on ultra but it definitely isn't.

I have reinstalled the game several times already and can't find any information on this issue.

I hope somebody can help me here.
Thanks!

Are you restarting the game after the changes?

What graphics adapter are you using? Are you using DX11 or DX12?

Make changes, try deleting hardware_settings_config.xml and restarting.

I have tried both, dx11 and dx12 but usually I start it in dx12.
Deleting the file does not make a difference.
Is there usually a field to confirm changes or anything coming up when setting it to for example "ultra"? I can only set it up and then use ESC to get back and then there is no difference. When I open it again it shows the new settings but the visuals are the same.

I tried restarting at heaps of different times but nothing makes a difference.

Super frustrating by now. The only f1 game I had so far was from 2015 and that one looks better than the 2019 version.

Not sure if it matters but I have geforce experience on my pc and also tried to influence it with that but similar results.

I would DDU the drivers. DX11 is the compatibility mode I guess.

Yeah, usually something along the lines of 'You need to restart the game to apply the changes' if there are any. But the 'Confirm changes' dialog should appear if you Esc without confirming IIRC.

I wouldn't try to change anything from the defaults in the Nvidia driver until you get the game responding in the first instance.

For 431.60 I recommend the latest W10 18362.267

I am also going through the same situation. I put the graphics in ultra but nothing changes, especially on the tires where the knurling is very evident.
