[1.07][Old Bug][Multiplayer][Ranked] Lobbies Desyncing and Lag when players join / leave

  • Platform you’re on (PS4, Xbox One, PC, Steam): PC, Steam
  • Report Code (Bottom left corner: ABCD-EFG-HIJK-LMNO): I'll be posting these as soon as I remember they are there
  • Game Mode, Online or Offline: Ranked Online
  • If in Multiplayer, how many players and how many AI?: 
  • What happened in the lead up to the problem?: Joined Ranked lobby but could not get in
  • If you get an error message, the exact wording of the error message you're receiving: No errors, just the clusterf**k you see in the videos
  • Any accessories you are using (wheel, pad, etc): Usual Ferrari F1 Rim and T300
  • Have you been able to recreate the issue? If so, what are the steps? Been avoiding playing due to issues, but looks like 1.07 is no better than any other version released.

First video, on joining the session I get confronted with a countdown timer that isn't moving. I assume someone leaves and then I get the totem with two players not loading in. At around 2:09 the lobby does actually load but when I go in there is no audio. At 2:35 I ALT-TAB to restore the audio, knowing this will make my ReLive recording go black, I stop and restart the recording.

So in this second video which continues pretty much after the first we can see the drivers that leave the lobby have their AI drive off the line. It looks pretty much that D-nya is the only driver I have a connection to as his is the only car not ghosted. How does this happen? 

There is also a noticeable lag stutter in the game as drivers leave and join. This was in a previous version of F1, it is an old bug. It's not particularly noticeable in the video as you can see from the FPS counter top right I am running a much higher framerate than the video upload at 60FPS.

There is some spectator cam lag / glitch at 6:00 as one of the ghosted drivers crosses the line. Anyway, this session persists untl D-nya has probably completed his 5 lap race. By 8:45 the coundown timer at the race end sticks at 0:01 remaining. I stick with this for 2 minutes until I get fed up. At about 11:20 I exit and join another session. More spinning totems, but eventually I load into Q as a spectator.

14:30 I'm finally in! I load my pretty miserable setup and proceed to have an average race. I have done virtually no running at Spain and my setup is quite awful, but hey.

But yeah, this is the kind of experience we are getting in ranked MP after 4 patches, it's not really very good. You must understand how frustrating this is.

P.S. To cap it all, turns out fLyghT is a rammer. Next race was Paul Ricard and I start behind him, he makes a mistake and as I come past leaving him plenty of room to rejoin, he swipes straight across the track and smashes me into the wall, breaking my wing. Game decides 'Collision with fLyghT' and I limp round to see the good job you've made of the Paul Ricard pit entry. Result: I lose safety rating

I don't really have this issue anymore as I keep getting no connection to Ranked lobbies. 

'Communicating with Online Services' was the constant message last night.

Today it's just hanging 'Please wait'

I did manage to join Unranked and that seemed to work but I want to get the Level 25 achievement and upgrade to 'A' safety rating. This is squarely on Patch 1.07.
