Scrambled screen when booting game (PC)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

So i'm running a sim rig which runs Assetto, rF2 etc very comfortably. I've updated to the recommended nVidia driver as per F1 2019's instructions upon booting the game. However, every time I boot up the game (DX11 or 12), I get a scrambled screen. I can hear the music in the background, but other than that...

Help would be hugely appreciated - it's also worth noting that i'm running this off of a 1TB external hard drive, which doesn't seem to be an issue according to what i've read up (other than slower loading times).

Hi @ecwds

First thing I’d suggest is to try verify your game files to see if that helps.

Validating F1 2019 downloaded correctly

  • Open Steam and go to the Library tab
  • Right click on F1 2019 and select Properties
  • Go to the Local Files tab and click Verify Integrity Of Game Files

I’d also suggest trying deleting your hardware settings - hardware_settings_config.xml file in Documents\My Games\F1 2019\hardwaresettings The game will generate a new one the next time it is run.

If that doesn’t work, can you send us your DXDiag and Hardware settings to community(AT)codemasters.com (replacing the (AT) with an @ ) so that we can take a further look? Also a picture of exactly what you’re seeing could also help us. Thanks!

Hi Faya,

We have managed to get the game running fortunately, but unfortunately we're now having some major issues with braking. Is there a way we can configure the brakes? We are only getting approximately 30% braking pressure.

We are using Fanatec Clubsport Pedals V3.

Thank you in advance.
