Track limits

As title, how is the track limit system to be implemented?. Is it by deteriorating performance/handling as in Grid 1? or timed slowdown as in Autosport?.

I didnt like the slowdown penalty at first in Autosport after Grid 1s slowdown/handling hit but got used to it and it is just like real penalties for exceeding track limits but either is fine with me.

I think DiRT's track limit penalties are the best, and the most realistic. I think the algorithm that decides whether you've gained an advantage by cutting a corner is the same as in Grid 2 and Autosport, but instead of being slowed down instantly you get a time penalty after the race.
