Multiplayer - "Kicked for Cheating" - Steps to Take

Faya

Hi all,

We seem to be getting a number of people reporting being "kicked for cheating". I've merged all the threads together to keep this information in one place and easier to find.

If you have found yourself banned, please take the following steps;

Steam Players

  • Please make sure you have no mods running and try verifying your files.
  • If you can, try running the game in the other DX mode, for example, if you are running the game in DX12, try running it in DX11 and vice versa.
  • Remove any additional apps (example UDP apps)
  • Try completely shutting down the game.

Consoles

  • Remove any additional apps (example UDP apps)
  • Please try shutting down the game completely.
  • Try restarting your console

If the steps above do not work, please let us know;

  • Was it your first time trying Multiplayer?
  • Which platform you are on
  • Your relevant Steam ID/PSN ID/Gamertag so we can check further.
  • If you're on Steam, can you let us know what version of Windows you are on

[Edit 2: Added a couple of extra questions]

[Edit: Double checked my terminology and updated]

Hi there!

If you're on PC, could you please try validating your game and making sure you remove any mods?

Validating F1 2019 downloaded correctly

  • Open Steam and go to the Library tab
  • Right click on F1 2019 and select Properties
  • Go to the Local Files tab and click Verify Integrity Of Game Files

If you're on a console, could you please try uninstalling and reinstalling? Let us know if that helps!

Goodday,

I was playing F1 2019 multiplayer, and i like the game so much, after a while i stopped with playing and go to work. Then i came home and i wanted to play f1 2019 multiplayer again. But i could’nt. I get an error with “you have been banned for cheating”. I havent used any cheats and i don’t even know how to cheat in a race game. I know every one how gets banned will say this. But i don’t know what i did wrong… And its ofc very frustrating for me.

I hope to get a reaction, and get unbanned.

Greetings,

Teun Schrijver

Hi all,

For some reason after a couple of minutes of Time Trial my times stop being saved and when I go to ranked multiplayer I get a message that says " you have been kicked for cheating", despite not cheating at any point during the few days I've owned the game so far. I assume these to events are linked as they are both online services.

Specs:

  • Steam version of the game (v1.05)
  • Xbox One wired controller
  • Completely fresh install of windows 10

Hope someone can help as this is quite frustrating to deal with.

Dear Readers,Support,

I played online races in F1 2013-F1 2019 until yesterday. Since the 1.06 came in i have an issue which says im kicked for cheating when i want to join a lobby / you are banned from this session when i want to create MY OWN LOBBY. I know if i mod the game it can cause an issue like this, because it happened to me in F1 2018. My game is fresh and "mod-empty". I reinstalled the game to check if it's the problem or not but nothing changed. I don't use any cheat either. Before that update i was able to play Open Lobbies (usually i was the host), and i was able to play weekly challange and ranked too.

Looking forward to your helpful answers,

Best wishes,

Tamás "WonderTomee" Pandur.

P.S.: Background programmes shouldn't be a problem because i use the same things as before (Chrome, Teamspeak, Logitech Driver for my wheel, AMD Radeon settings).

I forgot to write down what programmes i use in the background

Having the same issue here. Steam, patch 1.06. Verified game files, no errors. Only started with this patch. I have no modified files. Probably going to miss a scheduled league race over this, so thanks.

Hi @WonderTomee,

I’m guessing that you are on Steam? Could you try making sure you have any mods removed and verifying your files and seeing if that helps at all?

Validating F1 2019 downloaded correctly

  1. Open Steam and go to the Library tab
  2. Right click on F1 2019 and select Properties
  3. Go to the Local Files tab and click Verify Integrity Of Game Files

Edit: I've got a couple more questions for you!

Can you let me know the following things as well, please?

  • Your Steam name
  • A picture of the error that you're are getting
  • Are you running any UDP telemetry tools?

ok, excuse me for the email address, i just wanted to give you as much information as possible to try to solve the problem.

I am not very good at English, so I use a translator to help me.

Do you have an idea of the problem? I try everything, uninstall, reinstall, check files, no UDP to use anything.

I have already done all these tests without success. I even go so far as to completely reinstall Steam with the game and nothing to do. Always Banned 😞

Yes, sorry i didn't say that i'm playing on Steam (PC).

  • My Steam name: WonderTomee™ #Chatte (Steam ID64: 76561198075297130)
  • The pictures of the errors are attached down below. (fresh pictures)
  • No UDP telemetry tools used for this game.

The Game is also downloaded correctly as the Steam says. No problematic files found.

I still have no idea what can be wrong. It came in since v1.06, because before i was able to play Online with other ppl.

For information, I can once again play on the online servers in classified mode, I'm no longer banned,

On the other hand, during the qualifications of the weekly event, he recorded me no time. I tried twice and no time was recorded.

Hey,

I have an serious problem with online matches in F1 2019. Yesterday after I started my PC and downloaded the latest patch for the game I couldn't join any online lobby. The game just tells me that I was kicked for cheating even though didn't use any kind of cheatig software or what-soever. Am I the only Person who has this problem and is there a way to fix it? Thanks for your help!

@Faya,

I have the same issue.

Since today I receive this error message.

  • Your Steam name - S@msung (Playing Steam PC)
  • A picture of the error that you're are getting - see below
  • Are you running any UDP telemetry tools? NO

Validating F1 2019 was successful but did not solve this issue!

UPDATE:

After second time Validating F1 2019, it was possible to play online again. So my issue is fixed.

All of these guys too, and probably many more who haven't noticed yet because the patch only dropped yesterday. These threads should be merged, and Codemasters absolutely must figure out what is causing erroneous bans of innocent players, or roll back the patch until they can figure it out!
