Really hoping the old WRC cars make it into the game; especially seeing as codies already has the models (;

Hah :smiley:
It's pretty funny, and making me proud that you have Subaru WRC Mod 2.0, and converted it to DiRT Rally.

I'm curious: which car did you replaced? I'm asking because I've also did it, and replaced Impreza 555 :smile:

I replaced the fiesta, means the Subaru is powerful and a lot funner to drive; closer to the original car I reckon.

Plus I don't much care for the fiesta (;

If only that Impreza had the proper wheels used in WRC, those Gymkhana wheels are way out of place.
(BTW, does anyone still have a spec map tutorial for skinning? I'd like to upload my Ravenwest skin but I can't say it's complete without some good spec maps)

someone can upload the subaru mod 2.0 for dirt rally?
Sorry, but 3D model of car is from DiRT 3, and its illegal to convert it to other games. Conversion can be legal only if you also have game which files comes from. (I could make Subaru Mod for DiRT Rally, but installer for it should have some kind of checker if user who want to use it, also have DiRT 3, and I have no skills to make it :/ )

you should try to convert it yourself - @hoonhead made pretty good tutorial for it:

I had a go at importing liveries and 3D from other Codemasters games, i found out you can use cars from DiRT2, DiRT3, DiRT Showdown, Grid2 and Grid Autosport. Sometimes i had issues with missing wheels and sometimes had issues with the interior. You also need to redo some camera angles if you wanne use all the camera angles available in DiRT Rally the correct way.

because of all these issues i also will not release some of my work i already did but you can have a go yourself, it did the following:

for exterior 3D copy the following:
lowLOD.pssg
highLOD.pssg
AO.pssg
anim_dummies.pssg
ppts
nd2

rename them with the folder extension, for example an evo 9 from dirt2 e9r and reaname it to DiRT Rally ffr.

ctf can be changed within DiRT Rally, if you use ctf from other game it can give your trouble as with the sound so only use banks and bundles within DiRT Rally. btw do not forget to rename the files correctly.

To get the correct livery copy the one you want and rename them, copy the _tex_tm_high_00.pssg and rename it to _tex_tw_high_00.pssg so you have 4 wheel files.

I tried and had a Dallenbach from DiRT2, a Nissan S13 from grid autosport  with the sound of a Ford Fiesta and the handling from a Lancia Delta S4 :-) and i made a lot of DiRT3 cars.

Btw the issues mentioned by BrySky i did not really have but maybe it depends on what car you use, i also did not a full test so maybe i would run into them eventually.

Finally i can say that the DiRT3 cars work best and give you the least issues.

Maybe if i have more time i see if i can fix the issues but for the moment i can´t so have a go yourself, it is save as long as you backup your files so you can put back the game to a normal state or off course you can let steam fix your game but a backup is always faster and better.

been playing around with transferring stuff but  can't play around with .ctf files. everything else seems to transfer fine

I've got a hunch why wheels don't show on certain tracks, but im too lazy to investigate as it might be 3d .pssg based where you'd need in depth resources to edit/fix that issue. I'd say its related to how grid 2 models are used, non/upgraded cars etc.  Perhaps a quick file edit somewhere would do the trick.

Gilles Panizzi's livery for the 306 Maxi and Martini livery for the 037 and many more liveries for the other new cars may hopefully be on the way. :)

Fiesta RS WRC beta template available here.

It's labeled as beta because I couldn't do a thorough test, but should be fine. If you find errors, mistakes, anything, let me know here.

A big thanks to PaulieGTR from extracting and sending the wireframe layer.

(I can't provide support/help/anything else related to skinning)

Looks great! i want it now!!! but i think it needs the pìrelli logo in the back and the martini lines closer to the headlights i think. And as i can see, the martini logos are kinda blue, they are black in real life. Anyways great work

Martini logos are now black, repositioned the Lancia logo on the bonnet to match real life, added Volta and Pirelli logos to the front and back grilles, and made the Martini stripes closer to the headlights like you said. Trying to match those stripes to the front was a pain but it looks a lot better now.

Brightened my day. :)
I'm actually refusing to drive the 037 before it's been splashed in Martini.
It's just not right without it, lol.
