Didn't the Tucker/Coleman Subaru have names on the windows? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's what my squirrel memory tells me...

i re-skinned mine after the update and the spare tail-light is back on the right rear window! (Handy to have a spare tail light in a Mk2 though lol)
They modified the templates to avoid this, as such, those that have that problems, the skin (At least for the windows parts) need to be redone

And pretty much all the rallycross cars. Also the 2001 focus

...none of the Codemasters liveries on the 2001 Subaru, which is the topic of conversation...
...Come on now...

s'alright, I was a bit needlessly sharp there.
My mind was in texturing mode, even if it has been a couple of years since I've really done any myself in MSFS.

I think (I don't know if someone had posted it before me) that the Codies team had solved an issue with the Escort MK II. The issue  was that at the rear right window, it appeared something in orange, like a turn indicator light. After downloading the Finland Update, the problem seems to be solved and I can't see the custom liveries I've had downloaded, I just see the stock games liveries.

Yeah, you're right, Codies fixed that issue with MKII. Hopefully, they will fix 2001 Impreza rear side windows issue, next. I want Richard Burns name on those Windows
To say it again, it's not something to 'fix' if it was an intentional decision.
If there were textures for both windows, but the model was mirroring just one of them, that's almost certainly a bug.
Thus far, it seems like it's working the way it's designed to. Note that none of the Codemasters liveries have names on the window.
To add something on my behalf. This is not a problem that stops at the windows, door handles, and other small parts often have the same problem. If you look at the Ford Focus 2001 Marlboro i made you will see black door handles and not door handles with the mobil 1 logo on it. The reason for this is that there is only one door handle to edit and because the logo overlaps the door handle left and right differently i cannot do it the correct way so i have to make it black.

Also the lower wing part of the Ford Fiesta RS has the same problem.

What sometimes give problems is that the cutouts are not always placed straight/have correct symmetry. Look at the front bumper of the Ford Focus 2001 it is place on a slight angle so you have to place your logos and print accordingly. This also happens in every game i´ve seen from Codemasters.

These ´issues´ go back to as far as i can remember, which is Colin McRae Rally 2.0, and they happen more often then you think, so it is not a bug it is ´intentionally´  done (or by mistake, or they are not aware they do it). It could be the lack of space for all the parts or it could be because different designers work on the cars and they have different views on how to cutout the print from a 3D to a 2D version.

So i highly doubt Codemasters will fix this because in their opinion  there is nothing to fix. Sad for us livery creators but hey that is what we gotta deal with but i was very sad that i couldn´t put Richard Burns name on the windows cos it would be very nice to see his car with name in a Codemasters game for change.

TBH, I would just put the name on one side and let it be mirrored on the other. When you're going over 100km/h you don't really have time to notice it's mirrored anyway :P

Thing is, if you're taking screenshots or recording video, you could then only really look at the car from one side, which is even more boring than the current limitations.
You can't really see them while driving, so replays are kind of the main reason you would do them in the first place, and then you will see them mirrored on one side quite easily.

Even at that point I wouldn't mind at all. I prefer to have a name on a window, even if it will be mirrored, than to not have it at all. If you're recording a vid, the car will be moving and that window will not be the main focus anyway.
If you're really that desperate about making screenshots though, you can always do two versions of the livery, where the mirrored name will be on the other side xD

lol... as a youtuber of over 15 million views let me assure you.
People will call it out.

Some people would just prefer to leave a detail out instead of doing a bad or compromised version.
Just a matter of the individuals standards, that's all.

And who cares? Haters gonna hate, those that appreciate will appreciate.

If it would really be about standards, you would make a version with and without it. Those that would want to have a name would use the mirrored (majority, of that I can assure you), those that wouldn't would use the one without. Simple as that.

Even if no one else did, I care about what I make. =P
Personally, if I was going to make a video, then I would edit them out of the skin myself anyway if I had to because it would look wrong to me in that context.
In a video, I'd rather have something that looked 90% correct 100% of the time compared to something that looked 100% correct only 50% of the time.
Even if mirroring a clip made it look much better in a shot, I wouldn't do it if there was a visual giveaway that it had been done, such as a written sign.
It would just bother me.

This seems to be getting a tad heated. If people like Hoonhead doesn't want to put names on because he knows they will be mirrored on the other side and he thinks that's silly, then that's entirely up to him. Just as Meerkat now favours doing generic DiRT Rally car numbers instead of ones specific to one single rally (which typically aren't in the game).

It's great that it wouldn't bother you, but everyone is free to do their own liveries the way they want to and in whatever way makes them happiest.
I appreciate why some would want the names on anyway regardless of the texture mapping limitation, but I also appreciate why some would prefer not to do it because of those limitations.
Simples.

Always love it when people use this argument based on nothing. I don't know and I might very well be wrong, but based on #s of downloads v comments, I suspect the majority don't care.

For the record I wouldn't. No mirrored textures and generic number plates FTW here :) But thanks to all skinners regardless of their choices in this regard.

Just to interject something here:

A long while ago when the Suggestion box first opened up, I mentioned that our own name (chosen in menus) be the decal on the window, it was done in CM5, i think.  It was a neat feature, this seemed to be a layer texture so the base skin had nothing and the text was overlayed onto it.  I think the CODriver was alway Grist, but if it where implemented it would be cool to choose both.   It would Default to your name/Colemen, but editable in game.  If we wanted to record a video, we could change it to proper historic.

Anyhow, too bad thats a feature that has been overlooked since DiRT 1

Then you load up DR in French, and the french girl co-driver default name would be Paul Coleman lol

BTW, this reminds me of one issue, having to change the game language though steam is a pain, because it always has to download the language files every single time you change the language
I really would love a ingame option to change the language, and to be able to change co-driver voiceover and text language separately as well.

I would love a female co-driver for the English language side. Nothing against @Kick_up but female voice has more... control over me xD

Your updated Focus 01 seems to include the censored Sainz version and the default livery_00 (white Test Focus) instead of an updated McRae 01.
