You are awesome! So nice, thanks!!

But can I use these liverys on the car with the black concept livery in the sim? Only rename your files right??
I love the all white "test cars" :)

Enjoy the magic sweden stages and the new cars! :)

Thank you @meerkat80!

As an Englishman, living in Subaru Country (Oregon, USA) having Higgins' (Manxman) car for the R4, especially when he has such good liveries, is very exciting for me :)

Now that DR is officially released, I decided to re-dedicate my attention to improving the lighting system, starting once more with Germany, which I found I didn't quite nail the first time round (Color Palette Mod for Germany).

If you're intererested, check out the mod over at RD - here are a few impressions:

I see you improved it. Last time it was a bit pinky for my taste, now it seems it's just about right. Very natural colours all around. Really good job.

Will you be applying the fix to Night stages also? If you look closely, they also suffer from the same issue, it's just less visible at night than at day.

That does look pretty good, and i know it's asking a lot, but any chance you can do side-by-side style pics for it?

Thanks. I did look at the night setting too and, to be honest, found it to be not so bad compared to the others, perhaps owing to the slight base color correction that is being applied through Reshade in my game. Do you think it suffers from pink/red/yellow hue?

Will see if and when I got time for that, at the moment my dirt game directory is a complete mess ;)

@Gethema
The Route_X folder is missing from the panzerplatte_rally_01 folder in your archive.
Are the ones that would be in there the same as the ones in the Route_X folder for
panzerplatte_rally_02?

It's like typical Germany, just weaker. So yellow hue it is.

@Gethema Probably a long shot, but could wales be turned into... not doom gloom and despair? I just want to race around a nice pretty forest landscape.

So, the example shot you gave is just heavily saturated for the photo effect, common to do for more drama, or something :)

The welsh stages look pretty accurate for the most part, colours/weather etc.  Ryu, skip to day 3 and you're looking at Wales in game :D

Ups, my mistake. Will re-upload it with the correct folder for rally_01. Do not copy the files from rally_02\route_x over them please.

Difficult to tell, have to take a more detailed look into the lighting files of Wales first. It can surely be made more vivid and colorful, but it might be hard to balance it with the assets that are affected by the lighting,

@Gethema I noticed few things while testing your mod. Using it without Re-shade since I find the game to have just about right amount of vibrance, saturation and contrast. Very realistic like, not Photoshop improved like. Increased vibrance and saturation is good for fantasy games, not really for racing simulators.

Anyway, back to the point, there's a slight blue feel coming from the road as well as the colour overhaul not working on the roads that are further away from you. Easily noticeable on Ruschberg for example. Is there any possibility to fix that or is it simply down to how game does stuff and you can't do anything about it?

Well observed, the reason for these issues (distant terrain partially not affected by mod, road color slightly inbalanced)  is down to the fact that so far I've not been able to locate and/or access the respective files where the ground cover textures (apart from grass) for the road and lighting parameters for distant landscape lighting are stored. The funny thing is that the two major German rally stages (which are then only divided into several smaller stages which share the same assets as the longer one) actually differ quite a lot in terms of lighting, thus also requiring different values in parameters and different tweaks to the respective textures.

That said, all the stages from within the 'panzerplatte_rally_01' folder (Frauenberg is the long stage here, Kreuzungsring one of ther shorter iirc) have far less issues with incorrect lighting than their counterparts in the 'panzerplatte_rally_02' folder, where either distant terrain lighting, medium distance trees (especially noticeable in forest sections) or the road color are somewhat off. I've already tried experimenting with some settings that sounded like they could do the trick, but unfortunately I haven't been able to figure it out.

So, what really surprised me was the difference in lighting even within a single location's stages even though they share the same settings for the same conditions (e.g. sunny/midday) and apparently look pretty much identical in the default game. There's quite a lot of files I haven't had a look at yet, but I guess some specific settings could easily be locked away elsewhere.

Those are awesome. The only critisism I can give is that the R/G/B/ colored helmets are a bit too bright for me. But overall an exellent job on these.
