[PC][Singapore][1.09][Singleplayer] 2019 game crashes on Singapore both timetrial and career FP

Recommended Posts

The game crashes without warning on the Singapore circuit, this has happened in both career FP1 and time trial set to daytime (not tested TT during night)

the game creates an error report which I then send.

i have verified game integrity through steam and tried a previous version of graphics drivers that was known to work

Edit: I have since tested and the game also crashes on TT set to midnight

I read somewhere that someone is having issues with the night races.  A bit over a week ago I had my first crash on what was a bit of a dodgy graphics card.  Suspecting it was the card I got a new one but turns out the crash was at Bahrain at night so I suspect it is a similar issue and not the card at all.

Incidentally, now I've got a new card, I seem to be having more problems.

Z87-G45 Gaming? (MSI-7821)

Newer Nvidia driver (436.15) might as well try it....

Your Network driver is outdated, as are your sound drivers.

Shortcut might be just to upgrade Windows to 1903 to clear any Windows cruft.

UEFI BIOS (1.9) not updated by MSI since 2014, but your dxdiag reads 2.0, you'd be better checking it at startup by entering UEFI first. There are already lots of updates in that if you don't have it.

If you trust me AND the mod tool (at your own risk), I have updated the UEFI BIOS to include newer uCode (0x27), but updating Windows 10 to 1903 will update to 0x25 (as does 1809 with KB4465065), caveat is some of the H/Z8x chipset BIOSes from MSI give (FIT) errors in the tool (I have modded only H81M boards successfully using the tool)

(It will still read as a v1.9 BIOS, but please rename the file to remove the mod_ prefix after unzipping, use M-FLASH from a FAT USB stick)

I appreciate you searching around to get those drivers for me, but I don't see how those could be causing a problem, I have been able to run the full season up until singapore without a problem.

I had been using the Nvidia 436.15 drivers but rolled them back to 436.02 to see if that was the casue as I had done the Italian GP on those drivers just fine

I can't test them as I don't have an Nvidia system. But sometimes an install, re-install or clean install can work because of errors in the existing installation.

Uncomfortable, but next is backup and reinstall the game. It forces the first time install and redownloads the redistributables.

Next even more drastic is clean install Windows. But I've never had a game fail to work as I always clean install before a new game.

Upgrades to Windows are at a horrific pace. Every new build I recommend a clean install.

Anyway, all that aside you should only do what you want. But similar issues were fixed for me in an earlier build of the game so there is no reason why the game should now not work on a clean, updated system.

So you can either be proactive or wait.

since reinstalled the game along with those updates you suggested and the game still seems to crash in directx 12 but running in directx 11 seems to work with no ill effects so far
