sergiocarvalh18 0 Posted September 15, 2019 Hi guys, I'm pretty new to the F1 series, so please bear with me if the question appears to be too dumb. In F1 2019 I seem to have been able to configure and figure out all the controls, BUT... for the access to car set-up menu. There I stand in the pit inside the cockpit pushing all the different buttons (I'm using a wheel) and I still don't manage to get to the setup menu that (I guess) would allow me to make all the changes in the car. Can someone help me how to solve this apparently silly doubt? Thanks a million
UP100 1,152 Posted September 16, 2019 Hey! When you're in the garage, press whatever button you need to in order to look at the monitor that will be in front of you. It should be one of the main 4 buttons by default (X, Y, Circle, Rectangle etc). If you get to there, you should then be able to switch tabs by pressing some other button and it should allow you to access the setup menu. As I don't know if you've changed your bindings or what wheel you use, I cannot give any specific info. Hopefully you can get it resolved!

I actually forgot to say I'm playing on a PC platform. After another round of trying and failing to discover the key earlier today, it occurred to me that I hadn't tried the keyboard F keys yet. And there you go - it was the F1 key the one that does the trick. In any case, many thanks for taking time to answer, I really appreciate it!!

The numbers on the menus correspond to a wheel button key or levers. e.g, the up/down shifters and bumpers can be used to navigate menus (you can use them after a while but to my mind it's slightly counter-intuitive (as this post proves) and it's inconsistent) on my T300 it shifts between 1,2 and 10,9 - non-consecutive numbering, out of order numbering. You can argue the number sequencing is out of order on the wheels. OP if you look in the Control Panel|Devices and Printers, Windows will tell you which buttons are numbered what on the wheel. I've seen pictures of people actually stickering the buttons with the numbers in game. This game still does not hold and retain the indicators of the default controller - it switches to your last used; as soon as the keyboard is pressed the mappings all switch to Fn keys, etc. as soon as you touch the wheel they jump back to symbols or button numbers, etc. This is just lazy programming - it would take a day max to go through all the supported controllers and actually map the buttons to meaningful symbols, even for the F1 Rim it has the Advanced layout and the basic layout. It's a Thrustmaster TS-PC Racer. I think it might be related to this: "This game still does not hold and retain the indicators of the default controller - it switches to your last used; as soon as the keyboard is pressed the mappings all switch to Fn keys, etc. as soon as you touch the wheel they jump back to symbols or button numbers, etc". What you say here is what I've been experiencing and might explain why I don't seem to be able to access it with the wheel. For some reason, even if I select the wheel as controller the settings menu continues to show the wheel AND the keyboard as selected controllers. But anyway, at least now I can finally access the menu, even it requires me to go with the F1 keyboard key instead of using only the wheel as I wished. Multiple controller mappings are by design (if you have USB pedals or gearstick as well as a wheel, etc. or a button box or controller / keyboard). But the symbols should be representing the primary controller IMO. I don't know if this helps much or if you've seen it (as it's not on the TS-PC support page) but it explains where 1, 2, 11 & 12 are 🙂
