F1 2019 Feedback

Recommended Posts

Loving the latest instalment of the F1 series, however a few things that I feel could be improved;

  • Option to not have a story mode (who cares about Devon Butler?)- just a straight forward simulator, no other nonsense
  • Let the mechanical decisions, such as which engine to have and when, be left to the engineers, not the driver (or have the option), nothing worse than having to sit and plan when to change gear boxes etc....
  • It would be good to drive a 100% race (not in career mode) as yourself instead of a named driver.
  • Fantasy League option would be cool, the ability to change driver and car combinations.

Agree for all except the engineers controlling part upgrades. Can you imagine how you would feel if you just qualified on pole for Monaco only to be told they'd changed some parts and now with penalties you are last on the grid!

My feedback:

- Tyre wear not visible (graphics), I mean, when the car is stopped I would like to see the Tyre degradation, tyres always look the same.

- A.I too fast on straights and slow on some corners

- SC is a mess. I've seen lots of different bugs

- A.I starts. They have the same reaction time. It should differ.

Thanks, I didn't realise you could skip the story mode nonsense...  Sloopymusic, I'm the opposite when ti comes to engineering dev, I forget to check then end up losing a race I'd otherwise do very well in... an option is what I am after...

FFigueir - agreed, many bugs, in and out of race, but for pure sim entertainment it works for me, agreed AI cars are too fast, especially in wet!

Something that might help then and be easier to implement than an ai routine for the engineer which could actually be career destroying (imagine a bug makes the engineer give you new parts every race!) would be for an option in settings. The option would turn on or off worn engine component notifications. It would be easy to implement an onscreen alert that stated THE ENGINEERS HAVE NOTICED ICE WEAR IS BELOW 75/50/25 %. Your would be required to click a selection box to remove the warning. Options would be IGNORE, REMIND ME LATER or GO TO GARAGE. Then you would never have to worry about driving a substandard car again!

Another option would be AUTO REPLACE WORN COMPONENTS. You could select here options for the game to automatically replace worn parts at 75/50/25% wear. It would of course still annoy you to find yourself lower down the grid than you anticipated but would actually mirror real life more accurately as drivers don't usually tell the team to replace parts. It's the other way round. Driver may complain engine is underperforming but it's his job to drive not engineer!

Glad OP raised the subject though, I think it could be a useful feature in the next game!

I have no issues with F1 2019 due to the fact that I normally don't participate in Career Mode.  I just don't have the time for Career Mode!
