The Safety Rating

Recommended Posts

I really wish i didn't download this game so i could sell it. I only play for the multiplayer and i was really excited about the rating system because I thought i would bring more responsible racing. It is, however, not working and however, you all calculate how many percentage points are deducted is terrible. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. I've received more point deductions from WARNINGS than actual penalties I just had a race, where i hit the wall by my own volition, didn't get a warning, pitted and started 10 and finish 4th. I went from an A rating 5% to B rating 32%, IN ONE RACE. Mind you, i'm coming off 2 or 3 races with no problems.

How do you justify this? Some of us have to game the system by starting last and waiting for everyone to crash out, only to finish low but you know the safety rating will go up a few % points each time. Then you get to S rating and you have a couple of track limit warnings, and you're back down to A after a 60% point deduction. First of all. you should not be giving track limit warnings so often in this game in multiplayer. Second, if someone hits me from behind, I get a warning and a deduction. Ridiculous.

Another ridiculous thing is adding on deductions if you retired from a race. Unless you retired after crashing into someone, you should never be penalized for retirement like going into a wall in wet weather conditions. What does that have to do with a safety rating at all? It would be different if there was an ACTUAL EXPLANATION of how the percentages are tallied.

Seriously, think of this from a business perspective. You lose replay value, negative notoriety, you say you fix things and nothing changes, you're the only F1 licensed game but with mistakes like these that you seem to be completely complacent, it's only a matter of time before someone learns from your mistakes and takes your place as the Premium F1 experience.

And you want us to vote for you, for Game of the Year? Codemasters. Get. It. Together.

Thank You
