F1 2018 - Game crashes when loading Mexico

Recommended Posts

Hello community,
Been having a problem for days where the game crashes when I try to load Mexico.  The game has been working fine ever since I installed it (version 1.16).  This only happens when trying to load Mexico.  Lowering settings does not help.  I've linked up a video to my problem below:

Specs:
Intel i5 2500K @ 4.8GHz
16GB G.Skill TridentX DDR3-2133 CAS9
ASUS GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5

Thanks for any help!!

Verify game files on Steam.

Post more specs like winver and drivers.

Maybe try removing the OC on the CPU.

Hey stevie,
Game files have been verified.  I have tried without OC on CPU and the problem still persists.  Like I said, this only happens with Mexico, all other tracks work flawlessly with high settings(as do all my other games).  The OC is definitely stable I've had the CPU since 2011 and it's rock solid.  GPU drivers were updated to the latest Nvidia drivers when I first encountered the issue but it did not help.  I have tried everything that has come into my head but posting here was my last resort!

Did you DDU the drivers when updating?

Have you had any recent driver changes via WU since the game was working?

If yes and no respectively I suggest reinstalling the game, use Steam backup and restore. The advantage of this is that it does the first time install of repairing the Microsoft runtimes (e.g. voice control) or reloads the Steam Common Runtimes or whatever it's called. This may be useful in solving the issue.

Not sure what DDU means but I made sure to uninstall the drivers correctly before installing the new ones.  I'm pretty savvy when it comes to tinkering on the PC so I know that the issue isn't due to some silly failure on my part.  I've decided to just fully reinstall the game and now it works.

Thanks for the help stevie!
