Why water physics was cut off from DIRT series?

Recommended Posts

Thanks. Hmmm. Interesting. I'll try to drive into the water by another angle to see what happens...

There must have been improvements since DR1 bc using the same driving style in DR2.0 Wales caused me to spin the car around in the water. In New England I had no problems with the puddles, maybe they are more shallow, or higher speed. The puddle at the end of Sweet Lamb is particularly dangerous if I'm not careful.

So, open-world Forza can have even small puddles and DiRT now can't have even big ones with water physics?

Is it true that old Codemasters employees moved to Forza team? Coz it explains a lot.

LOL, at least I am not the only one who plays it here 😄 I had a problem with dirt there a lot. Do you think that dirt simulation is real? It feels like bumpy tarmac for me but nobody helped me with it yet and I am not expert on dirt at all.

ok, so the water splashes in DR2 do have serious effects on the cars when you drive through them.

the little ones don't because they are procedurally generated. you do see ripples in them from the rain, but that's it.

keep in mind FH4 has like 10x the budget and player base of this game 😉

Yeah the deeper puddles make a serious difference on your line and you can hydroplane super quick. The Wales puddles are the worst, but you can do the same in New England if you're doing the route with the puddle at the end of the stage. Going the same stage with it in the first split doesn't seem to cause much issue, but hitting it reverse I've definitely noticed when I didn't hit it straight on and could feel it pulling me off the line

Sorry I confused you guys, I didn't mean water impact on car, I meant inner water physics - waves from GRID2/3.
