Direct X crash still occuring

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I still get the DX crashes a lot.. I get the crash running DX12 aswell as DX11.  I've tried every possible solution given online, but without succes.

When running in DX11 mode the Ego Dumper says that an Kernel error caused F1_2019 to crash, and when running in DX12 mode the log says that an Kernel error caused F1_2019_DX12 to crash.

I'm not at home at the moment so I'm unavailable to post the logs..

I really need some help.

Thanks in advance,

Rik

I really advise you to upgrade or replace that GPU. Gave me no end of heartache with this series of games. I reckon you could go sideways / up to RX480/RX580 for no more than eBay fees and postage. But if you have the cash, you could upgrade to something a lot newer on either side.

Can you explain to me why you think that the GPU is causing the problem? I think it could also be a RAM issue

If it was a RAM issue, you'd have tested it. It's fairly simple to do and you have two sticks. It's an hour's work.

I can tell you because I owned a GTX970 and nothing but issues with previous titles (game stuttering and FPS drops mid-race, sometimes recordings would fail, etc.)

I can also tell you that the i7-4790K is unstable in Turbo mode (it's documented in Intel's published errata). You can disable it on your motherboard.

I am much happier since I bought AMD. I could not afford to buy anything more powerful as GPUs were in short supply during the mining drought.

Well, thank you very much for your help. I've went into the BIOS settings and found out that turbo mode was activated along with some other performance boosters. I disabled them all and been testing for 10 days now without a single crash. So you've solved the problem for me, thank you!

Thanks for coming back on this. It's not like the 4790K is slow at 4GHz 🙂
