Dirt Rally 3D Vision Problem

Hi,
just wanted to say I love playing dirt 3 and grid autosport in 3D.
I bought dirt rally hoping for more of the same.
I Fired it up but it won't let me choose a 720p resolution (needed to play with nvidia 3DTV Play) on my projector.
1280x768 is selectable but obviously this won't let me play in 3D. I've tried to manually change aspect ratio to no avail.
please advise as its doing my head in. There are posts on the nvidia 3D vision forums with people having the same problem. People have tried to edit ini files but it still won't stick!
Awesome game btw. I love the no rewinds and handling. Top job!
just need the 3D to work now!

You can also do like this:

Set windows desktop resolution to 1280x720 3D 60Hz.
Start game. Set it to 1280x768.
Press ALT-TAB twice to switch to window mode and back to fullscreen.

This works fine for me.
