Is the F1 series suffering from a lack of tracks

Recommended Posts

Like most here I have played this game since inception and like the rest of us I pretty much know every corner on every track in my sleep. Adding unused F1 tracks would really give me more incentive to purchase this or future F1 titles. Out of all the tracks used in 2015 there are 13 that I enjoy, the rest (Especially China & Bahrain) are pathetic imo! Adding more tracks (Istanbul comes to mind as a great F1track) would greatly improve the games longevity. Alternately, It would most likely be a money grab for CM as well because I'm sure it would only be offered as paid DLC and of course since it's a CM game it would cut the online community in half since if you don't own the DLC you won't be able to race against people that do have it (Remember the historic cars and tracks fiasco that you created in F1 2103 CM...I do!). Anyway, please make a great game and I'll buy it otherwise I'll continue with PCARS...

Would be nice. Restore career mode and let some tracks alternate throughout each season... Ahh the dreams that will never be.

I've suggested this many times, include tracks from previous F1 games. CM already has data for those tracks, tracks are easier & cheaper to license than cars and drivers. If CM included all tracks from their previous F1 games in F1 2015 we'd have a total of 29 track locations with dynamic weather, which would considerably increase the game's replay value.
It would be best to have extra tracks on disc as part of the main game, but I wouldn't mind paying for DLC as long as it's at a reasonable price.

Having a DLC with a bunch of something like 10 extra classic tracks would be epic, I'd buy that, 100%!

Circuits that have been included on previous F1 games and the recent GRID games that could be included in something like this could be:
- Istanbul, Turkey
- Valencia, Spain
- Nurburgring, Germany
- Hockenheim, Germany
- Yeongam, Korea
- New Delhi, India
- Imola, San Marino
- Brands Hatch, Britain
- Jerez, Spain
- Estoril, Portugal
- Indianapolis, USA
- Jarama, Spain
- Donington Park, Britain
- Long Beach, USA
- Detroit, USA

What about tracks from the ToCA Race Driver 3 days?! The tracks would obviously have to be updated but they include:
- Adelaide, Australia
- Zandvoort, Netherlands
- Kyalami, South Africa

Obviously it's wishful thinking, but driving current cars on these circuits would be so cool, and obviously there's so many more classics that they could make too, with some personal favourites of mine being:
- Magny-Cours, France
- Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Aida, Japan
- Phoenix, USA
- Paul Ricard, France

That would be incredible :p

F1 (full stop) is lacking decent tracks. But that's a  whole other argument.

I assume the game can only accommodate the current calender.

How about doing it like EA does? -> Sell tracks as DLC!

I would really love to buy tracks for like 2-5€ each (don't overprice it! since we might have to buy them every year again)
Or a some (Premium) Packs of Tracks like 10 (or all) for 19,99€.

This would

1.  compensate the costs for making these tracks
2. (maybe) not interfere with the conditions of the license for the game by F1...
3. helps to sell more units of the game itfself

You could also implement exotic tracks that were never part of the F1, like:

- Laguna Seca
- Fuji Speedway
- Circuit de la Sarthe
- Motorsport Arena Oschersleben
- ...
- Original tracks by Codemasters like they do in Gran Turismo (no costs for licenses!)
an oval track - Indianapolis?

or Track-Layouts of existing tracks that aren't or never were used in F1.

Or even... How about a Track Editor
Where you can design your own tracks and become the next Hermann Tilke?
Maybe  share it online and maybe even use it in Multiplayer.

The only problem I see with it are unusable tracks and tracks with ramps etc...
also the AI could have a Problem with these as I oftenly saw in GT5.

Would love my own track editor... create my own track as i want... race them offline and online with friends and also edit existing tracks. Never gonna happen. but awesome dream.

I wouldn't say it's lacking tracks anyway but it's certainly lacking drive and imagination right now.

I would like to have that! I'm still launching 2012 and 2013 on a daily basis to race on Valencia, Buddh Int. Circuit and so on.

yeah that's why I still play the older ones for the older tracks like Valencia and Turkey as well. Valencia was one of my favourite tracks still is tbh. I stil enjoy  racing India and Korea as well so it's all good.

The Turkey track is absolute quality to drive IMO, would love to see a DLC that had that in it.

All the tracks are really. I enjoy racing all of them even Monaco. I hate Monaco as a race track as I always struggle there but I still find it an interesting challenge. In fact racing there atm doing as poorly as ever though but then I've not exactly got a good car underneath me either as I'm racing the Sauber  and I've only got 2 points all season so far and got them in Bahrain. Most of the rest of the time I've been in the lower half of the field.

Can you imagine the struggle with the hardcore damage mod?

I wouldn't be playing at hardcore level anyway as I'm not that good. I'm just hoping I get a better car for my next season so I can do better more like I did in my first season when I took 4th in the championship. I can see the attraction for those that are good enough to playing at that level though.

One of the reasons I consider F1 2013 the best F1 game by CM is because of its number of tracks. I play F1 2013 more often than F1 2014, and I still play F1 2011 for Valencia & Istanbul and F1CE for Indianapolis & Magny-Cours. It would be awesome to have all those tracks in 1 game though.

yeah so have I. That's also why I've kept hold of F1 challenge which was the last game on PC before CM took over which has got the old Hockenheim with the long straights that went through the forests. Now that was an awesome track. The new one I still think is good and I can see why it was changed,  but I do miss the old one. Haven't played it for ages but I do know it still works on my system. I don't consider F1 2013 the best though mostly because for me it's stupid AI for me lets it down but I do enjoy the classic cars and tracks though.

2001 Hockenheim is still the first place I go each time I boot an old game. The stadium with no downforce is a different beast altogether

Agreed it was one of my favourite tracks back then. I loved flying down those long straights at full throttle
