Are cars meant to look trashed before the race?

Stadia is the priority now, don't count on it.  Though when the stadia users all complain about everything, they might actually start listening.

Yeah, the rest of us are just 2nd class now.

The biggest problem with this forum is we are all one, people complaining about things that others don't see for the simple reason they are on ps4, xbox or PC.

OR only fix it in Stadia so we "have to rent or buy" that version as well 🍌

(I really shouldn't give the marketing team any ideas!!!)

Googles cloud game streaming platform, where the game is running on the cloud somewhere and you really need fiber...

Some pc gamers worry about controller lag for racing and considering your controller is likely on the other side of the world from the game it may be bad.

I just tested it again after the last update and my cars are still scratched.

@ChrisGrovesMCM Do you know if this is a bug that is already looked into?

Hey there 🙂 this isn't a bug, it's by design; a stylistic choice.

@ChrisGrovesMCM Are you sure? The dirt on the cars I can understand as a design choice but not the totaled look of the cars:

This is how my car looks at the start of a new race (free run). It is especially noticeable on the carbon cars. I dont dare to race with them anymore because they all end up looking like this.

This is very poor stylistic choice, Chris.

Why did you even bother with livery editors, when after one race, your car is scratched and covered in mud forever?

And I mean, FOREVER. Changing livery on a car (basically, repainting it) does not fix that, cars are still trashed.

On those 'exclusive' carbon liveried cars it's even worse, because you don't have an option to change those liveries, you're stuck with your scratched carbon.

I'm following few racing series, and believe me, cars look brand new at the start of the race 🙂

Even after practice sessions, qualifying, etc.

Can we please get an option to clean the car? I want to see my liveries again.

Why did you even bother

- I don't have anything to do with stylistic decisions

- Style is subjective, and I'm also not here to justify those decisions

- I can put this question to the team, sure 🙂 I'd imagine this would need to be a more commonly-requested change for it to be put into action, but no harm in me asking

Same here,

you would think that you would have options to repair or even clean cars,

i think it's all about money,,

why would you want to have a race car look scratched or trashed,

pit makes no sense at all, well that's unless codemasters are targeting players of a certain age , forget about anyone from 18 to 80 as there opinions don't count 🙈🏁🏎🚥😍

I'm fine with this, personally. Cars get damaged, and you may be forced to switch the paint eventually, if you wanna have it pristine again (or sell the car and buy a new one).

BUT

This is a issue with the limited edition cars, as you cannot switch the liveries on those. So the scratches will be permanent for those models...

@ChrisGrovesMCM

I should have formulate my post better, I never wanted to imply that you are responsible for stylistic decisions, or that you should fix it, sorry 🙂

I just want to make sure you understand the issue here.

We don't mind that cars are scratched and dirty during/after the race.

But in game, once your car gets dirty, it can NEVER go clean.

Or maybe it can, if you try to sell the car and buy it again, never tried that though.

So, after your car raced once, it forever becomes dirty and scratched.

It makes no sense, it makes livery editor pointless imho.

Before the race starts, I can watch how cool my car is painted... but after the race loads, car instantly becomes trashed and ugly.

I don't think anyone can defend it with 'stylistic decision', for me it looks like some bug/oversight... why would you EVER want permanently trashed cars in your game?

Cars should start races in mint condition, I thought it was obvious.
