F1 2019 unplayable due to crashes on Steam

After patch 1.12 I can't play anymore because of the frequent crashes. Before this update I had no problems. I play in career mode.
The update was released on September 26, 3 weeks ago and, despite the problems complained of, everything is still silent regarding fixes. And in the meantime you can't play. Absurd.

Yes, in fact I forgot to say that I tried to disable the Steam overlay and update the drivers but the problem persists. While I play, suddenly, the game crashes and asks me to send a report.
It's frustrating because it's impossible to play in this way.

I see your specs are very similar to mine (9900k / 9700k) and both with 2080ti.

I'm also getting constant crashing as I posted yesterday:

Hi yes I can see it's potentially a sound driver issue. Could you confirm the motherboard make and model as it's not reported properly from BIOS.

The mobo is an Asrock z390 Extreme 4

UEFI BIOS 4.20 (updating via Instant Flash method - FAT32 USB stick, you cannot revert to earlier BIOS once using this update) do it, there are updates to GOP driver, uCode, RAID ROM, support for i9 series model CPUs etc.)

Realtek Audio DCH driver (UAD driver model) - again, do it. Uninstall exisiting drivers first and restart as they may be HDA type you have.

DDU your current graphics driver in Safe Mode with the tool. Install the DCH 436.48 and play DX12. You may want to delete the hardware_settings_config.xml once you have done the update before launching the game.

I just noticed this in mine:

"AvailableVRAM": 0,
    "TotalVRAM": 11313152,

 

That would suggest the game has a VRAM memory leak. I wonder if you have the same issue?

Later I will graph VRAM usage during gameplay.

@alwayscrashing the Available VRAM is also 0 in that dump, so I'm not sure that proves anything. Maybe it just means the memory is being used correctly; I am not a programmer. Equally it might be because you both have the same result that you share symptoms, so the fact could be related to the game crash, IDK.

Hi.

These days I had unforeseen circumstances that did not allow me to do the steps you suggested. I just updated the bios. As soon as I have time I update the audio drivers and those of the gpu (which are still the same as I already have, but I put them back for security).
I expect to give you an update by tomorrow.

I only play career mode. I get out of the EGO Dumper screen with it written that the game has crashed and then there is the button to send the report.
I'll try another mode and also the dx11.
However, I've only had problems since the last update (see 1.12).

@steviejay69 Hi.

I tried to play career mode and single race mode using both dx12 and dx11 and it seems that with dx11 the problem of crashes has disappeared.
