Ranked Multiplayer revival

Recommended Posts

I have played the F1 Games a lot and tought that the introduction of ranked multiplayer was great. I had the impression that in F1 2018 25% S Rating lobbies the driving was generally quite nice and fair (of course every now and then someone breaked to late into the first corners and hit you, but that even happens in real life).

However in F1 2019 ranked multiplayer for at least S Rated players seems to be dead. Every time I check it throws me into an empty lobby. I tried the unranked races but that is like mario kart, unless you are in the front you will not be able to pass anyone because your just forced off track and even if you are leading, one of the backmarkers will put you out.

I also don't really want to play leagues, since I will not be able to attend such a fixed schedule...

So please, do something to make ranked more attractive, award Points or let people invite friends again, just anything that brings back the comunity...

@codemasters: Is that something you also see in any statistics or is it just my impression that ranked is not really used anymore? And did the matching engine signifficantly change from F1 2018 which might be the reason for this impression?

To everyone else, what are the reasons you're not playing ranked anymore? Or what would need to happen to make you play ranked again? Would really hope we would find a way to revive this game mode...

Its a shame for such a nice feature...

25% has been a ghost town for months.

Not locking out assists in Ranked is a detriment.  Assist players mixed with no assist players in Ranked is ridiculous. Put that on top of the inherent disadvantage sim players have vs TV pod users, it's just not worth the hassle.  What's left are 5 lap players.

I would guess if I can even find a 25% lobby in Ranked, maybe one in 4 or 5 races has 3 people including me. All others are 2 people total.

Making the game accessible is good for growth, but some decisions have completely alienated sim players. Which is incredible considering the amount of time and $ invested in promoting wheels with this game.

I think Codies are more interested in overall high numbers of players rather than quaility and fairness of racing. Making it harder for causals and cheaters to win will just lead to them quitting. If they need to practice and gain actual skills to compete that's way over the 1 minute attention span so time to find another instant blast game. No signs of this improving in the future either.

Nailed it.  It is basically the Madden of racing games. YMMV lol

It is tricky getting in and out of the ranked lobbies and  you have to time it well when most of Europe is playing the game, has been my experience.  If you're consistently safety rated at S, week after week, you will find it hard to land in a full lobbie, as the game does segregate consistent S raters from those who are race toggling from A to S  and S to A.  What this means is that if you do land in a lobby of consisent S raters, you're most likely to have a musch better racing experience that a mixed safety rated lobby.  By which I mean you're less likely to be run of the track by unruly players!

True, but as you said, it is dead. When I was S, dead. A, dead. B, pretty dead. And back down to C, it is s cluster****.  No way I'm going to grind to get back to A. Not enough players and not worth the time, especially at 25%.

When the game first came out there were almost full lobbies...17...21...22..ect....and segregation by Safety and rating was not purely enforces as it is now.  A few days ago I was in a lobby with about 11 players and if felt, wow! - this is huge game! LOL!

The game literally rewards sportsmanlike behavior with early forced retirement....
