I'm hoping so too, WRC7 was fun and a good step up from WRC5 & 6 which were pretty much garbage. I look forward to it.

Maybe you were just having a temporary buffering issue? maybe it's the lighting? or youtube? I don't know, the video itself is just seems bad quality to me. I'm on a laptop too, albeit one with a great screen.

Still not convinced on a day one purchase, but I'll definitely be giving it a look. 1

I like arcade, and though WRC 7 wasn't very fun, this looks better. things that aren't so great. I realise this was recorded a month before release, and YT brings down the quality a bunch, but... water effects - splashes especially look awful graphics generally aren't so good - ground textures, low walls and small plants are from like 2015 what the hell is going on with those windshield wipers lol. everything about them is just weird. 1 minute ago, MattyH1812 said: Indeed, but at least the Lancia’s have the correct livery 😉 the Delta - yes. the Stratos -

SquadBruce 113 Posted August 22, 2019 Ughh. Grandstands in the middle of a welsh forest. Campervans parked up in the middle of Great Orme which is now supposedly attached to a forest. Cars that sound like vacuum cleaners. Worst sounding co driver in the history of co drivers. Tally Ho!
Jake Cushing 820 Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) The co-driver is so hilarious it could actually be a good thing. I could certainly get used to it, if the actual rallying, the physics and handling, were up to the standard of DR2.0. But 30fps on the Xbox One X? VirtuaIceMan 104 Posted August 23, 2019 Regarding that Wales Epic Stage, I've never really been a fan of them combining the Great Orme special stage with mid-Wales forests (which in reality are far apart). They used to do it in the earlier, Milestone-developed, versions of the game. 1
Peter Mathen 61 Posted August 25, 2019 The information about the career mode was very interesting and I would like if the DR 2 career would have done in that way. Also the huge number of track (snippets) and the very good looking tracks the lighting and rain were very promising. But with the current information available WRC 8 is now for me finally a no buy 1. No VR (but I would have tried it nevertheless) 2. It seems on PC EPIC (EGS) only so definitively an no buy for me

Sith Metal 214 Posted August 25, 2019 i'm still tempted by this, but what bothers me is the handling with a wheel. WRC 7 was terrible with wheel and i could not get used to it no matter how hard i tried. WRC 8 is supposed to be 70% i think, rebuilt in the handling department. I did watch a evolution of WRC games up until WRC 8 from chase cam, WRC 7 looks like it's on choppy waters like driving through a rough sea, the back end was bouncing all over the place, hence the dodgy handling with the wheel. WRC 8 looks more planted but there has been no mention of FFB setup and DOR differences. 30 FPS is another minus, but still tempted. Anyone else with a similar or different point. Tranzitive 309 Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) i pre-ordered today. that career mode looks awesome. they've clearly stolen the development tree idea straight from CM's F1 games, but i don't really mind that as the R&D tree in the F1 games is awesome. 3 hours ago, Peter Mathen said: 2. It seems on PC EPIC (EGS) only so definitively an no buy for me you can't blame developers for this. Steam takes a massive 30% cut of sales. for a niche game like WRC, this is a LOT of money. Epic, by contrast, takes only 12%. Valve is greedy as hell ... that's why so many developers these days are also using their own game platforms like Battlenet, the Ubisoft store etc. more and more developers are probably going to move away from Steam unless they drop the cut they take. they recently introduced the tiered model where the developers get a larger cut if the game sells over a certain number of units. but to even get to the 75/25 cutoff, you need to sell over $10 million worth of copies. no way WRC is going to make that much. Opassac 186 Posted August 25, 2019 I will probably buy it. I'm not expecting dr2.0 physics, but it looks fun, with some well done stages and a nice career mode. The only thing i really hate, from the videos i saw, it's the awfull codriver...

I'll get it on a deep sale for PS4. I have other stuff to play and I'll be playing DR2 for a long, long time. I don't like having multiple digital platforms on PC, and it'll force me to relearn how to drive with a controller. to be fair to ubisoft, they at least have their games up on steam as well. I can respect that. I agree though, Steam is going to have to improve the agreements they offer for distributing games, because companies are just going to keep making their own distribution platforms. it's already happening in the streaming services - Netfilx is under heavy attack now. I realise the games industry is much more broken up (there are more big, medium and small companies competing with each other), but it's inevitable.
