Look what it costs to slow the car Colin McRae and there is little grip on reality. Let codemasters! They have to solve this problem !!

Ok guys. The behaviour of cars decelerating waay to quick when letting off the throttle, this problem is identified by the devs and they know how to solve it.

The Audi is the best example of this. You hardly have to brake in that car, just let off the throttle. Maybe it's the drivetrain friction causing this.
Is there a link to a post where the devs said they are working on this issue?

Again, if  you have a suggestion for me to try a different Settings, I'll try to rally on that and post a feed back

Hi Guys

I don't know if that was mentioned but one if the issues related to physics I have is I think the car slows down to fast as soon as I lift the gas. I can drive the whole Sweet Lamb stage without using brake pedal at all and still achieve very good time. Just take Fiesta WRC and try to go downhill to the valley and after the jump lift the gas off, the car will stop before right corner. If you do it in real car you will be flying over they whole valley...

Edit: I just noticed that someone mentioned this already  :)

The devs also said it's being worked on, they know whats wrong with it and can fix it. Which is good news!

Yep that is a perfect example of whats wrong with Dirt Rally.  Please fix the physics Codemasters.  I'm keeping my finger crossed though because if Codemasters does fix the physics issues then you will be guaranteed to see the casual players complaining that they can no longer be an instant Rally star.   I can already see the forum posts titled "ice driving simulator 2015" etc etc..

This is why RBR was so difficult to learn as it indeed incorporated more realistic physics.  I don't want Dirt Rally physics to be an exact replica of RBR I want them to be even better!..Assetto Corsa level in fact (I wish)

Imagine how it could be with DIRT RALLY graphics and sounds...

This stage..... I've yet to find an English pacenote on this stage, pls PM if you have one...I always crash this stage since I can't tell what turn is coming up next...got the mod from Polish RBR site, hence, no English pacenote

Nice driving!  Now those are exciting driving physics comparable to the real thing.  Having to fight the car on the verge of wrecking to run it fast.  Going back to RBRRS now :-)

P.S.  Why is everyone in socks in these videos??  No one races a car in socks...lol

Co Driver Pro plugin is a Polish project, You'd need English samples to use it. I've yet to come across English samples for this plugin. It is a shame for non Polish speakers since pacenotes are done by a professional Polish codriver and are really accurate.

Strange to see my own videos posted for the thread I'm reading. :)

Regarding the video, NGP doesn't do very good job with this car. Actually on this video, I was driving 1 minute (!!) faster than the "unbeatable" time Hannu Mikkola did in 1985. For sure the stage is not completely accurate but the differences should be within a few seconds as I've seen with my investigations with other cars.

Edit: Just a reminder: Its not low grip (way too high by default) which makes RBR too difficult. It is the combination of unresponsive steering and f***ed up tyre load sensitivity.

About the socks.. ..I don't want to use any unnecessary equipment while driving. With these pedals I propably should use shoes but I can still stand the pain while heel'n'toeing. :)

Another video to show what can be done, what should be done, what will be do
...
It's seems a bit magic to mee, devs has to see that ! 2011 !

Hello, we have 121 votes for yes and 81 for no, its a great result and thank you for voting!

Most people are for change of physics, so I collected and created a list of our suggestion and ideas.

Thanks for posting this! On the side note I recommend tighting up a rear diff a lot- makes the car react to the throttle much more realistic way.
YES! Please help me get this experience better...tighten means what? left or right of the slider please?

Yes, but believe it only requires some light tweaking.

During episode 1 of the DiRT Show on dirtgame.com, Codemasters were asked about car handling/grip. The reply was something along the lines of, the cars your driving today might not necessarily be the same as the cars you drive later into development... There's an overwhelming air of  flexibility coming from CM about how DiRT Rally will develop over time, with the communities help and feedback.

Question is, what does the community at large want from the game? Full sim or arcade, or somewhere in between?

I have to say that the cars indeed seem a bit too grippy at times. Not a whole lot, but it's definitely there. I think the RWD cars needs the most work.

I agree with Porkhammer here. At times there is too much grip and also the cars do slow down too easily when lifting off the gas. Not by huge amounts mind like some seem to be suggesting but I am also sure that its something that can be addressed quite easily. lets be honest its a whole lot better than the arcade cars rotating on a central pivot of the last 2 dirt games.

Yes clearly there is way too much grip, and yea I'm using a wheel... Also strongly agree the car slows down way too fast both if your braking and if you lift ... for what reason i don't know... just like you said as if some brake is being applied .... yes the weight should go on the front wheels if you lift but that shouldn't in itself slow the car....

I am using a wheel ... funny thing is I have actually played RBR with a logitech ps3 style controller years back and it was almost impossible to play at first but after a short stint of crashes I was able to get the car through some stages, albeit more cautiously.

Not too much though. The community isn't always right.
