How to avoid Finland in career?

Recommended Posts

Since daytime Finland remains in its unplayable foggy/blizzard/forest fire/whatever you want to call it state, is there any way you could avoid having Finland events in career mode? So far I have just retired from those but playing only 5 events kind of hurts my championship position and I'd prefer to play 6 events with the same car anyway. Retiring from all the events to re-randomize the championship gets you relegated to a lower level and there a 50% chance it's pointless, so not really a solution. Not sure if uninstalling or deleting Finland would work, because of how DR2.0 handles DLC. So is there any way?

I'm not a fan of the constant fog either, but why do people have to exaggerate so much? As if this event wasn't playable.
Better a Finland with fog than no Finland at all.

I'm sort of in a similar boat, I find it borderline unplayable at anything resembling speed. I think certain hardware or settings may make it worse maybe, so might just be particularly bad on my rig.

It's a pity because it was my most anticipated update from DR1, where I loved the visuals but never enjoyed it because of the flying physics. Still hopeful it can be improved to look even halfway as clear as the preview images for it are.

to reply to the OP, there isn't really other than what you've already done.

you can retire every event in the hope that the next championship it loads won't have it. the issue with this is that you'll be demoted into the next difficulty down. to prevent this, I'd suggest driving the location or two you like the most (or want to practice on) and retiring the rest so that you get at least some points and don't finish in the bottom 3 of the class, saving you from demotion.

It's not exaggeration on my part, maybe someone might find it playable but to me it's so awful I avoid playing it. Which genuinely makes it far worse than no Finland at all, since no Finland at all doesn't ruin your career mode with an unplayable location.

If you using steam you can try to disable it.

Does uninstalling it on Steam work though? You get the files whether you have the DLC or not.

So, not only Finland ruined but the entire rally career mode too. Effing brilliant.

Codies REALLY should not have released Finland in this state. If they can't get it done by the date they have set then just postpone release.

the career mode has never been particularly interesting, imo

eh, I think they thought people would like it (ie more than without the mist like in the promo shots). it was this way with the ffb at launch, which most wheel users thought was an unfinished mess but in fact cm had spent a fair bit of time on: it just wasn't what players wanted. the devs got it wrong. it happens.

Start first event, when loaded click back to main menu.
At championship window click championship options and choose "Abandon Championship".
That will give you new events, if not satisfied then do same again.
That won´t drop your class like retire all events will do.

Work at least with Playstation.

Just to clarify, abandoning a championship does not demote you.

Each time i finish a championship, i then abandon the next championship lots of times until the alternate 6 locations load (the 6 that i didn’t just play in the previous championship). Each time i abandon i still remain in Masters.

it can take ages and it’s really naff to still have to do this workaround but it’s quicker than taking part in any of them.

Confirmed, abandoning the championship randomizes the locations again without getting demoted. Thanks!

Randomize / shuffle events button would be great at Championship Options, rally and RX.
I hate Argentina and Mettet is way off compared to others what comes to AI level, that´s why randomized multiple times.

Dont uninstall it, disable it. Press "manage my DLC" and uncheck it in the list

Since this forum is dead, I will answer my own question: it doesn't, thankfully it has playable locations only.
