DiRT Rally 2.0 - Game crashes when wanting to start a race

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

The game crashes consistantly when trying to start a race. Can someone help me?

I am running the game using the Windows 10 store.
The steps I am doing are: Start the game --> Freeplay --> Free roam --> select weather (any) --> Confirm --> select car (any) --> Crash
I have already unplugged all USB peripherals except mouse and keyboard, doesn't work.

The following message is what I receive when it crashes.

Access violation at address 0x313670c3 in module 'dirtrally2.exe' + 0x7570c3.

The following is the crashrprt.xml-file. The entire crash report is in the attachments

Corsair Dominator Platinum 32G 2800MHz DDR4 Kit. LG BH16NS40 BluRay Reader/Writer. Corsair CMPSU-HX1000i FM 1000Watt x2.
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD x 3. Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD x1.
Western Digital WD Gold 4TB Datacenter HDD.
Acer Predator X34P 34inch IPS LED Curved Gaming Monitor 3440x1440 120Hz

Purchased this title a few weeks ago and so far have accumulated less than 60 minutes 'playing', that time being spent on attempting to get up and running.

Luckily I can get a Steam refund but I'd rather get this sorted!

Hi @Fetanq @Angus390 which version of the game did you purchase? (I.e Deluxe).

If you own any DLC have you been sure to check its correctly installed.

Sadly another solution could be to try reinstall the game (I know that's annoying, sorry).

Access violation usually happens when content is missing from the game so doing both the solutions I mentioned is you best bet at first.

I have reinstalled my game three or four times and it still happens. All DLC is enabled, Steam super deluxe edition.

@CM_Ads you really need to wake up about this. This is a game-breaking problem that seems to be quite widespread, and your "solutions" do not work. Codemasters need to fix this on their end.

I have the same issue, but only since returning to the game after several months away.

I have only recently purchased the Season 3 + 4 DLC ad on, but it is next to useless with the constant crashing.

I have seen multiple reports of this across this web, so there must be a solution... has the issue been identified?

I've reinstalled the game (nearly 100GB !!! ), updated graphics drivers, run Windows Update, defaulted all settings and no luck. No other game suffering issues, so this is certainly Dirt Rally 2 related.

At this stage, I'm really annoyed to have spent an additional £9.99 on the |DLC only to find the game is not playable.
