aTeam3 0 Posted January 9 Hi all. As the title says, I've been playing multiplayer rally crosses with my brother and I'll finish the race first but he'll have lower lap times and gets the win in the results screen. What exactly is going on here? A little more detail. We've got setups on the opposite end of the spectrum, he's on an older gaming laptop and I'm running an open loop 9900k/2080ti. If we play a 6 lap race I can lap him on lap 6 (his lap 5) and at the start of races I usually gap him considerably (this is probably due to better hardware/monitor response time/refresh rate. I probably have 100ms lower input lag). We're kind of confused as to how I'm crossing the line first but he's running lower lap times and gets the win. He has a lot more sim racing experience but I'm pretty good so we're scratching our heads here lol. Any input is appreciated!
XenialJ 92 Posted January 9 The obvious thought is are you getting penalties for cutting corners or resetting? But I imagine you're already aware of that mechanic. Sounds like a bug otherwise. It'd be interesting for your sake to see which of you aren't getting times that match a clock on the wall.
aTeam3 0 Posted January 9 Yeah no penalties, but good thought. I had the same idea. I feel like his system clock may be getting screwed up if his CPU is 100% loaded or something
