tbtstt 2,387 Posted February 4 Thought I'd start a discussion to kill some time while we wait for the Flat Out DLC. I am curious to know what peoples preference is in the R5 class. I have clear favourites in pretty much all the classes now, but I still find myself flitting between the Fiesta, Fabia and Polo in R5. I initially thought the Polo was slow, but a few of my fastest times on tarmac have been set with it, so it seems it isn't as off the pace as I first thought. I nearly always play with default setup, but opinions of those who are playing the same as me and those of you who are tweaking settings are both welcome! PJTierney 4,910 Posted February 4 From the past 2 weeks of hammering out Rockton Plains (Australia) on my wheel: Fiesta is a good all-rounder. Space-Star is more nimble through the tight sections but loses out on top end. Polo is very stable at high speed and easy to predict. For me though there's only 2 choices: Fiesta R5 because of the Galway Rally livery. Polo GTI because of the Petter Solberg livery.
JorritVD 1,236 Posted February 4 I was suprised about the speed of the C3 at New Zealand in the Official DiRT Club. 🙂 Maybe not the greatest looking, but sure a car i want to try again.

Yeah, it seems as though the R5 class is truly mixed, as each car definitely has positives and negatives: whereas pretty much other car class in the game has one or two cars that are clearly the pick of the bunch. 14 minutes ago, JorritVD said: I was suprised about the speed of the C3 at New Zealand in the Official DiRT Club. 🙂 Maybe not the greatest looking, but sure a car i want to try again. Must admit I haven't used the C3 much: another car I need to give more time then!
RallyDriven 398 Posted February 4 I’ve mainly used the Polo, C3 and the Peugeot. Haven’t spent much time in the others. But I’ve found all three to be very good, I particularly like the Pug, the wrc variant is also one of my favourite cars in the game
Rogerbee 87 Posted February 4 It varies between tracks for me. I've set PB's with the 208, Polo and C3. Different cars come out on top every time. Haven't really tried the others much to be honest, but, I do keep coming back to those three.
Jack4688 150 Posted February 4 The Fiesta always seems a safe choice for me, but it looks old now that the Mk2 has come out in real life... The 208 has a nice distinctive sound but never feels particularly fast, the Polo similarly doesn’t feel like it’s that quick. I gave the SpaceStar my first proper go in a custom championship the other day - it was absolutely brilliant around a soaking wet Baumholder but I didn’t get to grips with it in Wales after that. Like the 208 it has quite a distinctive sound which I like. The one I keep coming back to though is the Fabia. It’s the best looking imo, has some half-decent alternative liveries (like the Texaco one) and feels like I’d be fastest in that if I put time into the set-up with it. ianism 1,316 Posted February 4 (edited) I've driven all of them to the Level 6 engine upgrade. don't really have a preference in terms of performance edit: Skoda is my favourite though. and I must be one of the strange people that likes the way the C3 looks. Interesting, the R5 Fabia is one I actually haven't driven at all. I'll have to give it a whirl.
Johnnnn 184 Posted February 5 (edited) I use Fabia only so I am not sure how other cars work. But it's fine and in our country almost everybody has normal Fabia and it's cool to see R5 "monster" in the game. And I like this ad very much. It's in Czech language but maybe you can find some generated subtitles. Edited February 5 by Johnnnn great ad

It's interesting how Škoda is the most popular car brand here. It's expensive and nothing special but something like local brand. That's the reason for Fabia for me in DR. It's a bit sad it's not in Forza at all and Octavia WRC would be pretty cool in DR too. I wouldn't buy Skoda but it's fun to play with it in games.

But for our market it's too expensive for the value. We are poor country so it's not easy to buy overpriced cars 😄
JorritVD 1,236 Posted February 9 I used the Citroën C3 also for Germany (round 9) of the official DiRT Club championship. The car getting more my car to go with in the R5 class and it has multiple reasons. One things is the sounds (f.e. of the Skoda and VW i not really enjoy) which of the C3 is plesent to hear, the car seems neutral and stable (it seems to have a longer wheelbase, maybe that is why) and the car seem to do a bit more what i want it to do.
