A clean run, 5 sec from the leaderboard time with the wrong car(being 100th +).

Not sure if I nailed the right method to play on slippery stage, but I suppose it is the way to play:

That was like us, except slower in a mini-Van...straight running into the visitor center to line up for the restroom...kids and their tiny bladders..sheesh!

HELP: how do you guys deal with a 17.8 GB (19,211,962,880 bytes) replay from FRAPS.  When I load it to Movie Maker, it stuttered like crazy. I tried compressing into mp4, and off course, lost the quality.  It's a nice run on Sector 3 of  Pikes' Peak on Rainy condition, played on ULTRA setting...I didn't know then that rain drops fly off the rear spoilers...didn't see those in my previous vidcard

I use VirtualDub to compress my videos, with the Xvid MPEG-4 codec. Works a treat.

I get no change in quality whatsoever. Here's how I do it.

1: Open up VirtualDub
2: Press "File" -> open video file -> navigate to your video file and doubleclick it.
3: Press "Audio" -> Full processing mode
4: Press "Video" -> Compression -> in the list that appears, select "Xvid MPEG-4 codec" (needs to be downloaded from http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ )
5: Press "File" -> Save as AVI -> Type filename, hit "Save", and wait for the video to compress. Voilá!

So, after Step 5, leave everything default? I think this is where I screwed up.

There's no "after step 5", just do it in that order and you're good to go. :) Don't touch anything, just let it compress.

Buy Premiere/Photoshop Element to end the time wasting tweaking.

It's like when the first time you actually game on a PC with all the option you can do. :)

Yeah because spending money instead of doing 5 simple steps in a free program is totally not a waste.

I had both, but, for a 5 min video, I often get lost in the editing and spend 1-2 months trying to go Hollywood.  Said no more.  More gaming instead. Curse you Codemasters!

It's less complicated than using virtualdub or even handbrake.

By the way, there's nearly no quality but simply progression of where I'm getting in this game.  Although beating the AI...

About 25sec behind the leaderboard time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyapFHCM-Ao
813 MB (852,919,714 bytes) 7:26

A full min behind the leaderboard time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb2ZyUFeDR8
1.54 GB (1,654,681,130 bytes) 14:25

Features:

Do it all better and faster

It does look sharper on VirtualDub...some hiccups now and then.  Sounds seems sharper at higher end and a little less bassy on the lower...then again, I don't have a soundcard.
Video got compressed from 17.8 GB (19,211,962,880 bytes) to 5.86 GB (6,297,122,248 bytes) ...not sure how Youtube is putting it out there.
Thanks Porkhammer

elements isnt the best or even good. go read reviews actually pretty poor.

sony vegas does many more things better you can get a similar priced version model. which will also do 4k.

PowerDirector Ultra also is better. same even cheaper price.

Vegas is more expensive than Element. Element is more in comparison to the studio platinium version.

Is sony vegas or movie studio is compatible with photoshop?

I don't know if it can do keying like that in Sony Movie Studio. (EDIT: I just looked, it doesn't)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmH-nYleSLc

I tried a bit the demo of movie studio & some function are easier to use, but it feel somehow limited. There are tons of picture control, but I don't use those.
