F1 2015 game trailer and demo ?

Recommended Posts

@scottishwildcat easy to know... if they would have put some pressure... we would by now have some sort of clear insight to all these delays. But we do not have even that. All we know is... assets have been submitted. And there is a delay to it because we have seen nothing so we get the "soon" answer and that is about it. Look at other games...  everyone is sick of project cars in here... so lets go with grand turismo 7... scheduled for a rumored 2017 release. There is more details on that game now.... then F1 2015 a game about to be released.

You lucky thing, I've not seen anything, yet! :p

Back in the days when I was a moderator, I used to get a sneak peek at videos before they were submitted to FOM. Quite often, these would get thrown back for issues such as certain teams (I won't mention which) being unhappy at being represented as second place or being overtaken by another team, that kind of thing. The whole process of creating a video during game production, submitting, receiving the green light from FOM takes a long time.

Also, on another point;- back when F1 2010 was in development, there was a gigantic amount of  dummy spitting (something which seems to be the norm these days) from the community whenever anything was shown/announced/promised then pushed back slightly. It's no wonder to me that Codemasters reigned in the amount of information. Those Developer Diaries must have taken a long time to put together. I thought they were excellent but they were nearly always lambasted by the usual suspects pulling apart everything they saw. It's a shame really that the few spoilt it for the majority but that's the way the world is these days.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see a next-gen F1 title and want to see more information. I can just understand the reasons for it not being as forthcoming as previous years.
Great post. Thanks @PiperAlpha .

WHY OH WHY DID YOU LEAVE! WE MISS YOU IN THESE FORUMS! PiperAlpha is a legend around these parts.... Also nice to see you!

Also on your comment: i used to be a Codies supporter for a long time... but there is so much you can take before it turns into anger. Sure F1 2010 was the firt try so only natural to give it a break... but don't you think after all these years later the game should at least have a decent core? It does not.
Thanks very much! I didn't keep up with the forums as much once things got shuffled about. Back in the day there was a great buzz about the community which sadly there doesn't seem to be any more. The likes of MS7XWC chipping in and Helios being an ace community manager seem a distant memory. I suppose it's inevitable that the hype died down after launch of the first game and subsequent launches. I suppose it depends on your expectations really. I have a decent set-up with my PC, wheel and race-seat and I have really enjoyed all of the F1 games. Yeah, there are some issues, but in general I've had a lot of enjoyment and it really 'feels' like F1. The new game looks to build on this and I'm particularly liking the look of the grid walk screen. (I've done a quick comparison for those who remember my style back in the day):

CM have their marketing release strategy and no matter how much a tiny number of people here complain that's not going to change the schedules for a multi million pound software release. You can come up with a list of reasons as long as your arm as to why we've seen no demos yet, ranging from approvals to them waiting to wait until the hype from other releases (Pcars, witcher) has died down so they get more attention in the reviews, to them wanting to make further optimisations to the graphics engines and not wanting to release vids until they are 100% sure they are completely happy.

I'm as keen to see the demos as anyone else, but if waiting a few extra weeks makes the difference in game quality/functionality then it will be worth it. I think as well that this is also their first release on XB1/PS4, so that is likely to add some issues into the testing/release schedule over and above what you might normally expect.

Going aginst the general direction of the discussions here, so sorry about that, but now that the new game will have commentary, who else thinks it would be awesome to have the legendary murray walker as an unlockable to use in single races. Murrays voice alone would make 2015 worth having :)

I do not recall in previous releases that we where waiting so long for any info except for F1 2014. So obviously they have reduced there budget for marketing F1 2015,  because ultimately this was a waste of time and resources and did not help the sales.

I believe that it the way to go also. they don't really need to produce all these dev diaries and hype the game during a span of months. all the info can be released a few weeks before the release this.

It probably their new approach to do things and we should expect info trailers 3 to 2 weeks before the release.

be patient guys!

It's the way to go is it?  lets see how the global rating for each  game release has consistently dropped every year.

early releases, game was well marketed and hyped and still hold a decent rating compared to the later half arsed efforts.

they lost a million sales on 1 platform over 4 years, yeah the strategy is right. lol never heard so much nonsense. I think with the lack of marketing, advertisement and communication with official forums the ps4 version will sell under 250,000 copies. time will tell.

funny how a game from 1984 is the highest selling f1 game on a single platform.

Well, yes and no. You could equally say it's funny how the highest-selling Mario Bros. game is from 1985, or the highest-selling Pokemon games are from 1996, and they're far higher profile video game franchises than F1.

was that not because the super Mario that came with nes was part of the bundle, like wii sports biggest game but because it was shipped with the console?

time will tell.. will se how the sales go.

my personal opinion poor marketing/advertisement won't weight in when i'm going to make a decision to buy it or not however i wil certainly not make this decision  before i see some trailers/screens and reviews.

I am just curious how bad the backlash is going to be when people who don't visit forums buy the game expecting a career mode.

To be fair, having been a developer for the last 30-odd years myself, the last thing I'd want when I was working on a project was somebody poking a camera in my face for broadcast on the internet... there's a reason you don't see many developers on TV! Certainly doesn't mean I don't care about what I'm working on, just that I'd much rather be, y'know, working on it :)

I would rather have these resources spend on the development of the game instead of hype and advertisement but that's just my view of seeing things.

Care to be specific what this means...?
At the very least it means we get some nice pre-race animations of the cars on the grid. If you want to be optimistic and read a little more into it... formation lap? Might have been an idea to use the 2015 Lotus in the IRL shots too though if the similarity to real life is the point...

Was just a little comparison between the game and real life. I struggled to find a 2015 Lotus grid photo to be honest. I did Google lots of different variations!

I dunno, but anyone who buys a full price game without reading at least one review first has more money than sense.
So you mean, 90% of all people?

And to be fair, it is the 6th game by the same company and the same title with just a number change, so you'd expect it to still have the basic features such as career as all the other ones.
