Daily Challenge - Time measurement bugged?

Recommended Posts

Did the Daily Challenge today, had a look at the leaderboard, and noticed that the player's times most often end (thousandth of a second) with an 7, 4 or 1.

Any other digit appears to be more or less rare, which shouldn't happen mathematically.

The game might only run its checks roughly 300 times a second, which would be every 3.33(repeating) milliseconds and it could be rounding issue. So, if for some reason it started at 0.000.66.. > 0.004.0.. > 0.007.33.. > 0.010.66..
Which would then get rounded to 0.001 > 0.004 > 0.007 > 0.011

Just a guess though.

Well thought!

On the other hand... I just did the first stage of the Weekly Challenge, and had a look at its leaderboard as well, and apparently there's no issue with the times there.

I did it yesterday and crashed over the line and it didn't register the finish. I think I had a decent time too.

Considering the level of accuracy of those times, it's probably not a huge issue. Most likely some sort of rounding issue, they probably shouldn't give that many decimal places though if they don't have the space to store it.
