[CARS] Clubman Rally Cars and Grp A

Recommended Posts

Clubmen cars should be made available as they make up the majority of the field in rallying. As you can see they are fwd (as they are cheap in comparison to escorts, and 4wd machinery). They are cars that the average person can afford to rally, now that they are from 80/90/early00's, and less technically advanced as R2,R3 cars that cost monumental money to purchase/run. As a rally driver myself, they are what id love to see in the game, and i love the 4wd cars in the game too!. cars such as: Vauxhall Nova Grp A (used by Colin Mcrae, Bernard Munster, Dave Metcalfe etc.) https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4033/4679435878_7d675c7959_b.jpg Vauxhall Corsa http://www.ianhardy.net/gallery/main.php/d/74599-2/malcolm_wilson_rally_2008_0165.jpg Vauxhall Astra Grp A Peugeot 106 Cup Car Grp A ( 1999 supercup challenge, competed in by up and coming drivers such as Kris Meeke) http://file028a.bebo.com/5/large/2007/04/20/11/389488709a4156815486b935195557l.jpg Peugeot 206 Super Cup http://www.gearboxmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/No44-e1297031272518.jpg Peugeot 306 Grp A Peugeot 309 Grp A http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8501/8380101347_a67b5a099f_z.jpg Peugeot 205 Challenge http://www.craigwallacemotorsport.co.uk/c/images/stories/scottish_rally_2010/s.r_-_0110.gif Citroen Saxo http://s911.photobucket.com/user/isleofmull/media/DSC_4200.jpg.html Nissan Micra http://www.ianhardy.net/gallery/main.php/d/10474-2/dukeries_rally_2005_0193.jpg feel free to add to the list!

I think this class would be the proper class to begin career mode. Compared to 60's cars.

I approve of this

I agree this. It is cool to drive something like history lesson from rally but for a proper immersive feeling of a rally career, this is a must. Maybe implement it that you can buy an expensive car but have less money for other things or vice versa

If the cars drive as expected I'm all for variety. Multiclass rallies are what's most realistic anyway.

More polls that don't give an accurate answer... Yey.

For the record, I wouldn't say 'no' to any of these things but my personal preference would be R2/R3 FWD cars (alongside some R5/'WRC' machines).

This is quite possibly the best suggestion on this forum, along with the ULTIMATE DIRT RALLY TEAM thread, if they could work together.

Lets face it, a young driver (the is not sponsered by his rich daddy) is not going to go out and buy a 1960's Mini for his first rally car. In ireland the Honda Civic is one of the most popular clubman cars you will find on the stages and two words describe them as a rally car. Cheap Power. So I 100% fully agree with this suggestion.

You're right, the two Clubman cars at the are good, no question. But like you said in case of Ireland, in Germany the most popular cars to start ralling are the VW Golf Mk. II and the BMW 318ti or 323i (E36, Compact or Coupe). Such small and cheap cars would be great to have in the Clubman category :)

I second that, I would love to see the cars you mentioned in the game. Especially if you could upgrade the exterior aswell.

This is the life blood of rallying Club class cars based of only very lighly upgraded road cars & run to Group N as it was back then with only limited mods allowed.
Yes some  will say boring production based cars , to many want only super cars  or legends .
But it also a good way to get to learn the Sport from the grass roots  levels & progress through the production based FWD & 4WD  cars before jumping into Group A or B  WRC cars  or Group 2 & 4 cars from the 60's to 70's.

as you said that would be more true to life than drive a Mini cooper.
With cars like Civics . Polo's Golfs , Corsa's  & any of  the  smaller compact cars been the choice of  club drivers

I agree, start off  by buying an old group B car and work your way up until you get offers from works teams, that would be cool.

We should be starting with R2 machinery or S1600. Not that this "nostalgia trip" isn't nice, but except the timeline, the cars have no progression.
