Phase out petrol powered cars

Recommended Posts

Time to go electric across the board. I was sitting on the fence on this subject TBH, but after seeing firsthand the effects of Global warming in Finland and that constant haze / fog no longer.  Maybe if we had more helicopters in the game it would help clear it abit ? Just have 5 or 6 at a fair distance ahead, there's one up there anyways so what's a few more ?  At least there's snow in Sweden though 😉

Just joking of course, love the game and have enjoyed many hours playing, so thankyou for all the hard work the team the has done. Infact it's changed how I play driving games in general on the console / pc due to how much feedback it is possible to sense. Since knowing this it's been something of a revelation and I've been able to translate this to other games even though they lack certain aspects.

The only thing I am disappointed with is Racenet. I was expecting a system which would chart my driving stats and achievements across all my Codemasters titles. There is SO MUCH that could be done in this respect. It could be useful for matching players initially of a similiar ability for matchmaking / online league set ups. You could have graphs showing your progress through each class of rally cars within the game. Personally I really struggled with some, but with practice, learning how to drive and set up that particular class I have made substantial progress from what I was like initially. It would be great to see this recorded in my Racenet profile.

Sadly though, my experience has been mainly - unable to connect to Racenet, followed by numerous reattempts.   Often the net result of this is losing all progress on a challenge thats annoying, but when it's a monthly challenge or weekly challenge and you come back to it to see not only the stage you lost connection on upon completion as a DNF but all these stages prior 😡.   I can understand to potential cheating of sorts the stage the disconnect logged being regarded as a DNF, but surely the stages prior were already saved and times recorded ?  I know at this point it's highly unlikely to change - unless we are getting another year (yes please) of content to expand the game further. If this is the case though, which I hope, I feel personally it is something that needs reworking as it potentially could deter many people depending on how long it has been since they suffered lost of progress yet again.

So to end, thanks again for all the hard work with Dirt 2.0 but please look at doing something with the current Racenet system as it's causing more issues for players than what it's actually providing for them.
