RodgerDavies 101 Posted May 18, 2015 So, CM have kindly given us some tantalising clues for new cars that will come alongside the features and locations over the next few months (OK, half a year). So let's have some wild (or educated) guesses and we can see who's closest to the truth as time gets close. No devs allowed  (OK, you can if you want...)May: Hillclimbing = "a collection of hillclimb cars"June: Tarmac / Germany = " acollection of classic rally cars"July: Rallycross = "a pack of rallycross super cars"August: Rallycross Expansion = "new cars"September: Finland = "two legendary cars from two legendary drivers"October: Modern Masters = "A whole new class of car for you to master in career containing some firm fan favourites"November: Sweden / Winter Wonderland: "new cars to master"So obviously I'm not expecting more than two or three cars per pack, and I'm not asking developers to tell us what they are or reveal anything before they plan to, but I just thought it would be interesting to hear people's guesses. I know some of them aren't too descriptive, but have a go with some of the ones that are.If this should be moved to the gossip thread, please feel free to do so. meerkat80 0 Posted May 18, 2015 Considering the 17 cars we have now all comes from Dirt 3, my guess is that we will se something very close to an identical car pack. This is not so bad considering the Dirt series had so many good assets and they could be now used in a proper rally game. The model quality is still very good, and the texture are upgraded from 2k to 4k so again, I'm not complaining. The variety is also quite large, there's a bit of everything but -- correct me if I'm wrong -- not enough to rebuild a set for a specific WRC year of championship.Considering DR is aiming at a smaller niche than the classic Dirt line, I would be no surprised to see see no new cars at all but just a recycle of assets (probably except the big trucks/gymkhana/buggies, but the rest all seems perfectly to be compatible with the game modes of DR).This is a paste of the Dirt 3 Complete Edition car list from Dirt Wikia (http://dirt.wikia.com/wiki/DiRT_3):List of carsEditRallyEditProEditFord Focus RS WRCCitroën C4 WRCFord Fiesta RS Rally CarMini Countryman Rally EditionOpenEditFord Fiesta Open ClassMitsubishi Lancer Evolution XSubaru Impreza WRX STI N12Subaru Impreza WRX STI SRT USAColin McRae R4 - (VIP Pass)Ford Escort Mk II Ken Block Special - (Downloadable content)Super 2000EditPeugeot 207 S2000Abarth Grande Punto S200090'sEditSubaru Impreza WRX STI 1995 - (VIP Pass)Ford Escort RS CosworthLancia Delta HF IntegraleToyota Celica GT-FourGroup BEditAudi Sport Quattro RallyeFord RS200MG Metro 6R4Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2 - (Mud & Guts Car Pack)Lancia Delta S4 - (Power & Glory Car Pack)80'sEditFord Sierra Cosworth RS500 - (VIP Pass)Opel Manta 400Renault 5 TurboBMW M3 Rally - (Downloadable content)70'sEditFord Escort Mk II - (Downloadable content)Opel Kadett GT/E 16vFiat 131 AbarthLancia Stratos - (Downloadable content)60'sEditMini Cooper SLancia Fulvia HFRenault Alpine A110 1600 SRaidEditHummer H3 - (VIP Pass)Volkswagen Race Touareg 2Bowler NemesisMitsubishi Racing LancerTrailblazerEditClassicEditAudi Quattro S1 Pikes PeakPeugeot 405 T16 Pikes Peak - (VIP Pass)Toyota TacomaModernEditMonster Sport SX4 Hillclimb SpecialBMW Z4 M Coupe MotorsportFord Fiesta OMSE Hillclimb SpecialRhys Millen Racing PM580Chevrolet Camaro SSX Concept - (Downloadable content)Ford Mustang GT - (Downloadable content)RallycrossEditFord RS200 RallycrossMitsubishi Lancer Evo X RallyXFord Fiesta Rallycross Mk 7Peugeot 207 T16 4x4Subaru Impreza WRX STI GR RallycrossMG Metro 6R4 RallyXCitroën C4 Rallycross - (Downloadable content)Ford Focus ST RallyX - (Downloadable content)GymkhanaEditMitsubishi Lancer Evo X JUNFord Fiesta Gymkhana 3Subaru Impreza WRX STI GD GymkhanaSubaru Impreza WRX STI GR GymkhanaScion tC - (Downloadable content)Saturn Sky - (Downloadable content)Mini Cooper S Gymkhana - (Downloadable content)LandrushEditStadium BuggyStadium Truck
austinb 8 Posted May 18, 2015 I would suggest for the pikes peak pack they will inlcude cars they have used previously such as:Rod Millen's Toyota Takoma Rhys Millen's Hyundai Monster's Suzuki SX4Toyota Celica GT HillclimbPlus Liam Doran's RS200 seeing as hes had decent input into the game and is a reasonable guy and likely to let them have it.Im doubtful of Loeb's 208 T16 but that would be awesome.Though if that does come we could probably also get Vatanen's 405 as well. FlakHound 0 Posted May 18, 2015 Rallycameraman said: This would be more appropriate in the DiRTy gossip thread I was going to say the same thing, but honestly it gets crowded in there, and a majority of what "general discussion" is can fit in that thread. At least this keeps it organized so long as it's on topic. As far as what classes are going to get added, on one hand I dont think we'll get anything crazy or classes we dont have now, but on the other hand they said they reworked some aero due to the big wings and downforce on hillclimb cars... sloty 0 Posted May 18, 2015 Classic cars are fine but I'd still prefer to see more recent one's
RodgerDavies 101 Posted May 18, 2015 So, just looking from a rallying point of view, the following DiRT3 cars stand out as being 'likely' candidates to me:Germany/Tarmac?:Renault Alpine A110Opel KadettOpel Manta 400Renault 5 TurboFinland?:Toyota Celica GT-Four (Kankkunen)Modern Masters?:Ford Focus RS WRCCitroën C4 WRCProbably not quite enough to fill all the planned content, so looking at the manufacturers who seem willing to play ball with licenses, maybe the Lancia 037 or Subaru Impreza WRC08 could sneak in there too, but it's the 'legendary cars / legendary drivers' one that has me intrigued. Couldn't agree with you more; I'm holding onto hope that that's what the 'modern masters' pack will contain. There's an interesting interview here ( http://www.videogamer.com/pc/dirt_rally/news/codemasters_announces_dirt_rally_a_hardcore_rally_sim_available_now_on_steam_early_access.html ) that specifically mentions the Peugeot 306 and Seat Ibiza being part of the tarmac pack. Interestingly, this shows that we might not only get models from previous DiRT games (I believe these two would be new?).
bogani 64 Posted May 26, 2015 The Peug 306 F2 is a mean 4wD killer on tarmac. Would love to have it. And listen to it ;)
macebig 0 Posted May 26, 2015 Seat Ibiza was part of the original game so in reality its making a return to the series.
KingOfCoins 43 Posted May 26, 2015 I have a feeling that Codemasters have a good relationship with peugeot with all the peugeot cars coming. So I think it's likely we'll see the likes of the 206wrc, 307wrc, 207 s2000 and the 208 R5 in the future. Or at least one of them
macebig 0 Posted May 26, 2015 I would like to see R2 class cars as beginning for the career and relatively easy to handle cars to learn the basics of the game.
