F1 2015 Teaser Trailer and Screenshots!

Recommended Posts

I almost expect a formation lap in this game...I mean with all the work to add people, media etc on the grid before the race then it would be little weird to not add formation lap I think...

How can anyone really judge the graphics on just a few photos and a 20 second YouTube video?!?! Until you physically pop it in your console or PC and run it on your setup, then you can judge how it really looks. Reserve judgment until you see proper game play.

It'snothing.jpeg

A 20 second trailer and some screenshots. We still know nothing about the way the game plays, and there's been no official statement as to why the game has been delayed. We just find out at the end of a trailer.

BigLee said he wanted to turn around codemasters reputation this year, and engage with the community more. But so far he's just made empty promises and disappeared. So business as usual.

I think it's a bit ridiculous that the game is up for pre-order, and there is one 20 second trailer, and a handful of screenshots. There needs to be more transparency between consumers and developers. But we're just left in the dark and told "don't worry guys, the game is REALLY good. But no you can't see it. Licencing issues... and stuff"

Hopefully the delay means something positive being added to the game or less bugs/issues on release.

Need to see actual gameplay instead of this wishy washy trailer to make any judgement since  CM graphics have never been the issue.
Really 2011 was terrible, cartoon like graphics

Very easy: By using your eyes! The game is not gonna look less cartoony in higher resolutions.  All I see is the same old Codemasters F1 series pimped with some new images that are actually just cutscenes. And I skipped on 2014 so I am comparing it to 2013.

Yes I can see the improvements to the graphics but they are not really spectacular. I was told that this game was build from the ground up on a new engine. It amazes me that that result is almost the same as the game I played in 2013 on a PS3

I bought a PS4 to play F1 2014 am I glad that I got pCARS or there still wouldn't be much Formula 1 racing going on on my console.

All I can say for sure, if this game have the normal dynamic weather bugs(AI not affected by it, AI much faster on it etc etc) then I give up on Dynamic Weather in games...Since every game so far have the same bugs on it, even pCars have the same as F1 games normaly have...

True! pCARS has a lot of bugs but pCARS will be supported for more than a year. F1 series are mostly supported for a few months.

that has to be the most sneaky way to announce a delay I have ever seen! why oh why do codies act like this? a tease trailer to whet the appetite and then a sneaky change of date with no info or explanation. then total silence from codies!

I have a feeling that this game is going to be nothing but cut scenes. Cut scenes leaving the pits cut scene formation lap cut scenes podiums cut scene pitstops cut scene getting into the car cut scene getting out of the car. And right in the middle F1 2014 paste and copy. And if we do get another video expect the release date to be August.

I agree.  The pitstop is a perfect place to add gameplay, even if it's just a mini-game; pressing the pit-limiter and/or braking for the box at the right time.  To have it be nothing but a cut-scene is patently ridiculous.  The graphics look nice, as do the driver's models, but they add nothing to gameplay.

yeah but I think graphics wise since then though it's been pretty solid. 2011 I think has been the exception rather than the rule tbh

If we're comparing to F1 2014, the graphics are a huge improvement, but if we're comparing to Project CARS, the graphics are a bit of a disappointment.

Well, I'm on PC with everything maxed out, and if you're not, you can search for some screenshots/videos to see what I'm talking about.  I have shown several people Project CARS video footage and they've thought it's real life. No one will ever be fooled into thinking the same about F1 2015's overly bright colors - "cartoony" as per some people's description.

Seems odd all but 2 shots of moving cars are in wet. And both dry shots are first few corners Australia, I think

Regarding the first picture on page 1 showing Grosjean, when was the last year the cars had red t-cams?

I thought the same, now considering they say nothing has been "copied" over from previous games, why would they even put the effort in to have the t-cams red. Very odd maybe certain things like the base of each car design in creation has been simply copied from the previous game engine.

I believe it may have been 2013 which was the last year to have red T-Cams for No. 1 drivers in each team. I also remember spotting the same mistake from a work in progress screen shot of 2014 with a Williams at Silverstone Turn 1. Seems Codemasters didnt learn there mistske????

Also interesting is that none of the newly released screenshots suggest they are "Work In Progress" and this is not even stated by codemasters when publishing them which till proven wrong could suggest these are final builds (Seems odd getting final build shots same time the game has been delayed though.....)

Exactly, 4 out of 5 games were fine graphic wise and even then 2011 wasn't completely horrible. I was more referring to the games having bigger issues than the graphics, hopefully most of that was due to the old ego engine e.g. damage, physics and that.

Graphics are not a problem. If the game plays perfectly then it doesn't matter how "bad" the graphics are. (I use the word bad but honestly, there is no game on this gen that has actual bad graphics, they're all great. Some not so good as others but certainly none are bad).
PCars is by far the best looking racing game I've played but that doesn't change the amount of bugs in the game or how terrible the AI are which for me personally has resulted in a really underwhelming game after all the hype it had and still has. It's a great game, but a far cry from the ultimate racing game that some people make it sound like.

I wonder if the game will be as unpredictable as it did at Monaco today, worrying to be called in to pit when probably not necessary!

I hope you're being sarcastic. That looks terrible. Based on the screenshots leaked a few months back I thought Monaco would finally have some depth and realism and was excited for the game, but this is the same old cartoony, flat scenery. And it's just wrong. I'm at Monaco this weekend (second time at the Monaco GP). I walked the track today, this shot does not capture the harbour properly in basic looks or atmosphere. The boats are too far apart, there are too few boats, they are not differentiated in style or size properly, nor are they decorated with any colour (i.e signs supporting drivers, national flags). It's sterile and wrong.

The whole video is a disappointment, the game looks incredibly similar visually to F1 2014. I really expected more from next gen.
i'm afraid your right, looks very disapointing for a next gen effort.

I'll add something to this, I usually post in DiRT forums, but I am interested in the tech that is in F1:2015.  I had hoped that DiRT Rally would have some atmosphere in the menus and over all look like the F1 series and former McRae series (2005 back) with its animations and event feel etc.

I think this is ends up the same for both camps (rally and F1) Codies is not Sony (i.e. DriveClub) they don't have the resources to build the models and scenery like the larger game co's do.

I am just using DriveClub since its a pretty good LOOKING game, can't say much about handling or anything else, Need for Speed always LOOKED good to, but driving was crap.

This is just my perspective, I am probably missing a lot.  I'm just expressing an idea here.
