F1 2015 Teaser Trailer and Screenshots!

Recommended Posts

I'm old enough to remember when you rarely heard about games in advance, you just went to the shop every week to see what was new, and occasionally took a punt on something based on the usually-fake (and occasionally even hand-drawn) "screenshots" on the cassette inlay that, even if they were real, were often from a different platform than the one you were buying for.

I for one applaud Codemasters' attempt to recreate this nostalgic excitement!

I can honestly say that, in all my 23 years of gaming, I've never seen such a poor job at promoting a title which comes out in little over a month. It's almost like they don't want to get any attention for it.

I mean, is it really that bad, Codemasters?

Not to mention this is the first Next Gen title for Formula 1... we should all be hyped.. happy about the game. Instead we are all frustrated and have no info.

LOL.  I do remember those days too.

Nice on the classic advertising.  Lets just hope that when you receive your game, it doesn't come on  floppy discs.

Just a question though @justbiglee, what exactly can we expect from a marketing perspective, from now up until release? I.E. More screens, videos, hotlaps etc.

More of everything, I'm not showing you my hand yet though. Gotta let me keep some surprises :P
Remember this? I do.

@LiteralZero could you tell something about soundtrack? F1 2010/11 and 2012 had a wonderful soundtrack. The best I've heard in a game, was enough to hear once, and immediately fell into a memory.

To me the best and most memorable song in the Codemasters F1 series is Ian Brown's F.E.A.R UNKLE Remix, this mix fits very well for the fast pace of Formula 1 in my personal opinion. Also the fact that the marketing for it was done so right! So much information exitement and hype!. The trailers, developer videos, all the media attention, trailers shown on television, Lewis playing against his brother online along side Jake Humphrey on the BBC ect. I miss those days.

for those of you who where not around back in 2010. This is the video i speak of... its quite funny and fun to watch. PS Lewis is a little corner cutting cheater. lol

yeah that's one of the main reasons why it's still one of my favourites and why I still play it but then I liked a lot of the music they used on F1 2010. The whole experience of 2010 was just so brilliant

Interesting that codemasters think the F1 licence makes it the only game with real life drivers, teams & tracks will make it the best racing game and sell the most copies. Well this certiantly proves with the way the PR is going this year.

And saying the F1 brand seprates its from the pack (of other race games) is not nesacery a good thing.

Haha this makes me laugh...

“We have a pretty clear roadmap and loads of ideas for the years ahead,” teases Bunney. “But right now we are very focused on making F1 2015 an enormous success – and early indications from the community and pre-sales are extremely encouraging."

Is there another F1 game forum I dont know about as early indications on this forum dont look encoraging.

I think they were looking at the Project Cars section of this forum and saw how much interest was generated and thought it was for their game.

Haha, they think the community is excited. Wonder what community they are referring to? Maybe they have a group of 5 Codemasters employees who race in their lunchbreak and formed a community...

Oh yeah, the community is absolutely buzzing. You can feel the excitement in the air.

Well that was some of the biggest BS I've had the pleasure of reading lately concerning this game. I can't wait to play it now.

Well, he did say "community", not forum. And to be fair, if you look at most of the replies on (say) Facebook, Twitter or gaming websites whenever they've posted the teaser trailer or screenshots, they actually have been mostly positive. I'm sure most of those people don't have all the information (or lack of) that we have on here, but some of them probably do and just aren't that bothered by the same things we are.

Thanks for the link. That "article" sounds more like a pitch to FOM than to the game's audience/customers.

Good news folks
http://www.assettocorsa.net/coming-to-console-2016/

Just one year more, and we won't need any other racing game at all, F1 included, unless you already play It on PC

Wow I hate these forums on my phone I typed this long respond and it lost it.... Anyway I went into more detail, but bottom line is you have destroyed almost everyone's interest in your game, you have screwed up big time. THIS NEW GENERATION OF GAMERS AND GAMING IS ALL ABOUT MORE CUSTOMIZATION AND MORE CHOICES ITS ABOUT TAILORING AN EXPERIENCE TO YOUR OWN NEEDS BECAUSE DEVELOPERS JAVE ALLOWED YOU TO DO SO. Al you have done is limit limit limit remove limit limit remove. Basically it's you play how we say or we will make it a shitty experience. I guarantee your sales numbers are going to be the worst yet all because you refuse to get out of your own heads and your own creative jail cells and just shut up and listen to what people want. It's a true shame true true shame your team is not bad at making games but you choose to put your talents toward making shitty boxes in games.... Good luck in the future with other games series you have....I'm 100% sure you e just killed your F1 franchise!!! Great job

Well now, that's debatable :) Most research also shows this generation of gamers is massively more interested in casual gaming than any previous generation, and the experience that offers is the very antithesis of having to wade through pages of settings just to make the controller wobble exactly the way you want it to.

The attitude in the past was directed more at my phone for not saving the long more level headed post before! And in regards to what your saying I don't mean get my stick to wobble right but more along the lines of.... I want all three practices or I like just one, or indont like any... If I am casual I can rock it with all the assists and it feels great but if I want to dive in there is a gigantic selection of settings to choose from. Games are becoming more and more simplistic and easy and that why the gaming industry is in a creative slump. Back when I was a kid you actually had to use your brain to figure things out, I even spent days stuck on certain parts of games until I figured it out... What a sense of accomplishment you got! If you go I to forums for games I don't think you'll ever see please dum it down and make it more casual.. So as for this research you speak of.... It way off and it's biased that's what I am saying it's not accurate.

I pre-ordered every single codies F1 game (bar F1 2013 because I had to get it shipped from Europe) but this time I am going to take a pass and wait until it is $30 on the shelves at Gamestop or not buy it at all if the game gets bad reviews.
