2Pacalypse 108 Posted March 30 Im tired of the same tracks especially in online modes. Every time the same 5-6 tracks in the lobbies. Please add some of the tracks which were in the past: f.e 2010: Malaysia, Turkey, Korea, Europe (Valencia) 2011: India & Germany (Nürburgring) + DLCs: Imola, Adelaide, Jerez, Magny-Cours, Estoril, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Brands Hatch, Zolder, Indianapolis, Kyalami, Watkins Glen....to name a few..... these DLC tracks would make the historical part with the historical cars much better and would make more fun.

RaceMyZaru 82 Posted April 6 After the F1 2013 removal disaster it seems that including tracks which aren't officially run by F1 that season is a licensing hell. I'd love additional tracks and a career mode with track rotation as much as the next guy but the lawyers seem to hate fun.
Sector4 63 Posted April 6 Licensing is one thing, building the tracks is another. Codemasters have all the data regarding how many people bought the track DLC for F1 2013, how many people drove them and for how long and how much it cost to license and make the tracks. And I'm not only talking about money. The employees who were assigned to making classic tracks could have been assigned to do something else instead. Maybe their data shows that making and releasing DLC tracks is not worth it, financially or otherwise. Maybe they'd prefer putting their resources into other areas of the game. But if they start laser scanning more tracks for next-gen, I personally would love to see classic tracks return. Sepang, Istanbul Park, Buddh, Imola, Jerez, Magny-Cours, Brands Hatch, Donington, Nurburgring, Fuji, Adelaide, Detroit... So many great tracks to choose from. Or at least put more track configurations in the game. Paul Ricard, Silverstone, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and many other tracks have tons of different configurations that could bring more variety into the game with less effort than creating a completely new track from scratch.

Tracks are probably some of the most expensive content to make for a racing game, especially at a decent fidelity. It's not just a matter of laserscanning the track for accuracy, you have to digitalize all the visible buildings as well, which is kinda hard in some cases where entire structures only exist during race weekends. I don't know if this is done with outsourced teams that specialize in just that, but it's gonna be expensive either way. Codemasters is kind of lucky that there's only about a single new track to create per year on average. Games like iRacing and Rfactor 2 nickel and dime you for single tracks, often costing over 10$. That pricing would upset F1 game customers quite a bit.
