The world cup really should have been held over here. Certainly not in Brazil anyway - the accommodation is crap, the streets aren't safe and the stadiums aren't ready. Look at all the nice stadiums we have over here - Wembley, Olympic Stadium, Emirates, Etihad, St James', SOL, Old Trafford - even Craven Cottage and Anfield. Big mistake FIFA.
What about King Power Stadium?

@jordieDAFC‌ I'm not sure what they could add to it. Some Red on it somewhere, maybe like this: http://img34.picoodle.com/img/img34/3/2/17/f_00ghpszrm_590d932.jpg (On an iPad, can insert pictures...)

I've very nearly sorted the world cup predictor game, does anyone mind having a look over my scoring system? It may need some work! Suggestions welcome

Will you make a separate forum for this because it will make this thread confusing
Is @Tommig1995 doing an F1-predictor-style game for this? That would be brilliant :D

Euro 2004 champions out of nowhere, may I remind you. Not sure what they've done since.

Colombia being seeded really surprised me, because I don't remember them being at a world cup in my memory (they may have been at 2002, I only remember the England v Brazil from that one). Ivory Coast I expect to qualify.

Νothing really important besides getting our first ever win in the world cup group stage 4 years ago :P

Colombia have been in world cups before as I think they were there in italia 90 and USA 94 as I think they made the quarter finals in one year too in the wc could be wrong though

One of the best achievements in recent times for the manager. They did knock Russia out of Euro 2012 pretty unexpectedly. I was in Cyprus at the time and everyone was going crazy for Greece.

I have high hopes so long as Roy picks the right players. Drop Rooney and play Barkley. Scoring a tap in against Ecuador should not warrant a starting XI place.

Against Italy he should play:
______________Hart_______________
_Johnson__Cahill__Jagielka__Baines_
_______Gerrard______Henderson____
__Sterling_____Barkley_____Lallana__
____________Sturridge_____________

Maybe swap Henderson for Wilshere, but I think that could be a decent team. If Oxlade-Chamberlain is fit, then play him over Sterling, but that line up has pace and looks decent.

I also think that in our final game before Italy, Roy should try Jones in CDM. He performed well there for United when he played there. Wouldn't be ideal, but Wilshere and Henderson have hardly been outstanding so far.

BBC have made a "Pick your World Cup XI" (All time), this is mine:

This is the link to the creator in case you want it (below). I made mine based on what they achieved in the world cup only. Maldini for example, never won a WC, same with CR7 and a few others, so they were not selected. Some of the so called "experts" included CR7 over some other legends. God knows why. There is no formation really, just 11 slots with a minimum of 3 defenders and 3 midfielders (max of 5 mids) and a minimum of 2 strikers with a max of 3. So basically, 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 I think, although I am not entirely sure on the specific positions of them all, I think I got the back 4 right, midfield is all CM's and the attack is out of position a bit, but honestly it doesn't matter when those three are there.

Good team, although for me Buffon isn't even second choice  if I had to make a bench. Thinking about it, Yashin is probably better than Banks, so I might well be better off with him in goal. I think Yashin was the only keeper to win the Ballon'dor which is pretty interesting and surprising.

It's funny how you hear of the greats like Pele, but many people don't know who Lev Yashin is, despite being perhaps the greatest keeper of all time. Any common football fan knows who Pele is, but if you asked them who Yashin is, I'd bet money on most of them not having a clue.

Reus is injured.....If he misses the WC that's a huge blow for Germany in a team where they only have 1 top  striker (who is like 34). Reus isn't a striker, but he scores a lot.
ANOTHER player injured ? Wow. Anyways Muller scores plenty of goals too though. Still Reus will be a huge blow.

Muller is one of the most underrated players around. Quality player.

Ribery and Reus injured/ruled out in one day. Now, with any luck Cavani or Suarez is ruled out, along with Balotelli/Pirlo and Messi.
