The Dirt Daily Thread

Hey people, that's a video I'd made some time ago, but I think that is what Bogani is talking about for see where the others lose time...

This is just only an ilustration, I'm not a great driver, I hope you enjoy the video.

Yeah with most cars with high horsepower and big turbos usually pull best in 2nd gear, got a R32 skyline with 500 horses, pulls best at 2nd aswell

I just did a run at the stage for you bogani ... though I wasn't entirely sure what you meant by "dashcam". I found the dash a bit pointless as you don't really see much, so I  chose the helmet cam instead. That way you see wheel inputs, gear indicator, and handbrake inputs. It just made more sense to me. I also, somehow, managed a 2:50.459! No idea how but there you go. Uploading as we speak.

EDIT: Here we go. It's a bit dark, as all my Fraps recordings seem to turn out nowadays... but the Youtube tools will have that sorted soon enough.

That was a sick run. That car is weird tho, has too much grip or something, either way you made it your b*tch. Shame you didn't do that run on the daily, some guy just kicked you off top spot lol :x

Thanks for the compliment, Cortex. :)

Today's daily was a bit meh. I can't figure out how to drive the 1995 Subaru fast. It understeered A LOT whenever I tried. But it was more responsive when driving slowly, so that's what I did. No risks, just drive through.

Stupid car.

EDIT: Haha WHAT? I'm second overall! Hmm... maybe slow is fast in the Subaru 1995. :)

Nice Porkhammer. Nice to see how you manage momentum using the entire width of the stage, specially through the hairpins.
On the straight away before the last right hand my CPU spikes and I get throttle stick. There's a few other places I have memorized that freeze up. Time to buy a new gaming rig (that way I can race my kids as well. ).

Well, this one was... Shall we say eventful? Twice understeering off the track in tight corners and one roll shortly before the finish. That's - again - not gonna be my first result in the top 100. Fun, though.

Another crap daily for me. A spin, several hairpin over shoots and 2 offs over the edge with vehicle recovery on one needed. Just useless.

Done okay today, had to get used to the weight of the car, I messed up a hairpin, cost me about 3 seconds, rest of the rally went okay, 10th spot atm, not bad for almost no practice at all. (only did 1 practice rally), well raced Porkhammer, managed second, I still don't know how you guys manage to do it, I got a full-time job and I play other games as well, you guys fly through the stages like it's your last day to live.

Today's daily went pretty well; made sure to not put a single wheel wrong as it has cost me a lot in the past. The time didn't turn out half bad; 3:19 in practice and 3:20 on daily. Definitely acceptable in my eyes, I'm as far from a tarmac guy as it gets!

I don't like the M3 and I don't like Wales and that Fferm Wynt stage is the worst.
At the second stage I did a corkscrew flip on the fast downhill right-hander at the end of the stage and stuck the landing pointing the right way and on the road!
It looked spectacular, however it wasn't really the quickest way through, but the god's of tires smiled on me and I continued. Other than that, a reset would be the thing to do, but it's Le Mans now so lolno.

The Escort daily went ok, did a panic hairpin at the beginning (I forgot it existed). Ran into pretty much everything else on the stage to set a time. I'm not a big fan of the Ford either, so I am happy with that result.

lmao at that new daily best

Managed an overall time of 3min 23sec on the rally of Monte Carlo with the Ford Escort, but with a +40 second gap, I don't know how it's possible to beat that stage with +31 seconds between the first and second place, seems a bit unreal to me.

30+ seconds ahead. This is ridiculous. He should at least have tried to make it look believable.

Something has to be done.

That's because it's our little cheater mascot sylwesterp doing the times.

Didn't want to say anything but I had my suspicions, checked his Steam profile, doesn't play any other racing games, and he didn't put much time in Dirt Rally, can't really say I'm surprised.

Yeh, I looked at myself being 40 secs behind, then saw second place.
I got 3:19 for practice time, but got a little wound up with the competition buzz. ha

He now hails from Israel too apparently. I guess his citizenship application just went through at the same time as his name change.

Idk how we're gonna know who he is now... he too clever.

Didn't actually realise you could change your display name on the CM site. Does it just use your steam name? Idk cos mine are the same atm.
