I went into today's Wager event "blind", didn't know what stage or car I'd be on, turns out it was the X at X :worried:

As a no-assist controller user I was dreading the worst, but I managed to nail a strong (if a little conservative) run

Onboard footage is currently being uploaded to YouTube, I'll post a link when it's done.
@PJTierney Wager event is supposed to be a hidden event. Please don't share this information in public.

[Edit: Didn't realise stage info should be kept private, my bad.]
Now that the event's over, here my Stage Run :)

Aw, i lost just more than a second on my Fiat 131 daily run, somehow. Really unsure where.
Even then, Fiat 131 is a personal favourite for Germany.

Both of my dailies went very smooth. My approach on both was the "cautiously quick" one -- my favourite. Basically going as fast as I can while keeping neat and tidy lines. My times are by no means unbeatable, but I reckon they're both competitive enough to let me stay in the top 3 by reset. Fingers crossed.

Still don't know how you guys do it, felt I went very fast and smooth except one spin but 40 seconds behind you, baffles me.
If you put a lot of hours in then pacenotes become a thing of the past and one less thing to think about whilst driving, and those people start to drive on instinct and muscle memory, making them faster with every run.

Much like Bear pointed out, memorizing the stages helps. ;)

Yeah, it definitely becomes Muscle memory, driving on the very edge and usually end up ignoring the co-driver, apart (for me) a few "CAUTION!" calls because i can't keep myself from running into a rock at 220kmh at times.

If you spun Phil, you were actually on for an excellent time, believe it or not!  You are doing a lot better than you think! Keep at it :)

Thanks Kev :)

And I thought after 180 hours I would have remembered all the corners but I guess not lol. I still lift when I shouldn't sometimes, some of the Greek corners just blend together and forget whats next, Wales and Monte seem to be a bit easier for me :)

Hey i seem to be un-banned from the forum. Yeay. Still unsure why i was. Oh well. :)

A really good daily in Greece for me. A favourite stage and good feeling car.

The German stages are still a bit slower for me though. I've yet to do a top 10 there.
Can't seem to get a good handle on the tarmac grip level yet.

Honestly, Sweden and Finland are still mostly unknown territory for me, and even the other locations sometimes catch me offguard. And that's after 500 hours with the game. Seems I'm not really good at memorizing stages.

I've barely touched Sweden, never really been fond of snow stages as I am with gravel so when it comes to events on those, I just wing it and see how it goes :P

I just seem to not memorise where I need to be to setup the corner to get the max speed out half the time. Its ok if I can see further ahead, Wales I'm best at.

Well that was interesting, did a quick custom setup for the Fiat and ran a really good stage, 12th place has to be one of my best ever results!

Went onto the Countryman, yeah, despite now liking and doing quite well in Greece, 4 off road resets, no passenger door and a damaged rad, 945th place....

Clean racing with the Fiat, had just one moment where back got a bit too excited, but I held it together. :) Currently 72nd out of 1647

Mini run went ok, apart from flying off the track and getting a 15 second penalty near the start :D Even with the penalty got 6:29 and 196th out of 3839. Would've been a great run without the off, but this also works :D

Daily:

The 205's easier to drive than I remember; maybe it's because the Daily version has all of the upgrades installed. It's still quite loose but I reckon it would be faster than the 405 if I could tame it as the initial turn-in is much more responsive. Both of my runs were in the 9:40 range with 30 seconds of penalties from overshooting some corners. Top times on Xbox were in the 9:10s when I checked so my pace was good.

Wager:

Having adjusted my steering settings recently I've been having more fun with the few ___ cars I've driven. The ___'s a pleasant thing to drive, I quite enjoyed that stage. The run was pretty solid except for one point where I landed awkwardly and hit a rock on the following "Don't Cut".

Currently sitting 36th out of 436 for the wager with 6:41, spun out on a corner and had a few knocks dropping my speed but not too bad of a run. This track is so nasty for a long RWD car, so narrow!

Two words for my Pikes Peak daily in the 205 T16: Holy chit. I didn't think it could go this quickly. First run, 8:18. Recorded it. Decided to cruise through run 2, clean and tidy lines. 8:16 - so I had to record that as well!

Yeah I usually race very nicely in the 405 T16, I went for the daily event first run cruising, went pretty crap and had to get used to the low rpm in 1st gear getting through the hairpins keeping the throttle up, 2nd run went surprisingly better and placed 17th on the leaderboard, not bad for a non practice run with a car I almost never drive.

Wager stage could have gone better, crashed twice with about 30 seconds lost because of the penalty, but I think I still placed myself in the middle tier, which is good enough.

The Pikes Peak event was utterly crap. Both runs. That little french fucktard both times just decided, somewhere halfway up the mountain, that it didn't want to play with its rear right tyre anymore and punctured it. Out of nowhere. Without really hitting anything.  :s
While it was still healthy and without its stupid Napoleon complex, it was surprisingly well behaved, way less twerky and twitchy than I remembered. But unless you either have a clutch to play with OR mastered the art of left-fook-braking to the fullest...good luck getting that thing out of the hairpins and out of that canyonesque turbo lag.  :|

Pikes peak went ok. Had one crash in the rocks near the top, but didn't get reset and didn't puncture any tires. Got 9:04. In the second run hit the barrier at the hairpin that's right after start of sector 2 and punctured a tire, was no point of going further so I abandoned that run.

In the wager had two rolls :D Not much damage and they didn't slow me down too much though

New day, new dailies:
Mine went pretty well, in fact I didn't expect to do so well, it's still early in the day so I won't hold the position for too long, but placed 7th in the Seat on Geufron Forest, I did make a mistake of bumping one of the sides which caused me to fly in the trees but luckily I could backup out of the trees and onto the road without facing the penalty.
I became 2nd on Route de Turini in the Sierra RS500, so I'm not disappointed, not disappointed at all :)

Got Top Tier in both Dailies yesterday.

"The Only Way is Up" still won't unlock for me though, stuck at 100% :(

Anyone watched Crest from todays owner's event? Is this severe cutting in latter part of sector 3 considered legit?

It's "legit" seeing as the game "allows" it (cutters logic), but kind of frowned upon.
