Sierra daily was pretty good; but apparently I was too careful in the final flowing snowy section and lost 2.5 seconds? k

The logic behind track cutting shouldn't be that bothersome(unless it is incredible large) in how DR physic is made. It require track knowledge to make it efficient anyway.

Well my Ibiza daily was ... cancelled. I found out in practice that I pretty much had to cut that sector 3 chicane a little bit to match rampage's and gheed's blistering times. So I did. But it felt wrong, very wrong... and because of that I got distracted and made lots of rookie mistakes and ended up at a 5:49, which - granted - was a nice time, would put me in third place -- but I decided not to upload it. I wouldn't even have uploaded it if it put me in the lead. I simply don't want to perform any cuts on my dailies. It left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. Wouldn't really be nice to upload that replay to Youtube, either.

I guess I'm weird?

No offense to rampage or gheed of course, I just can't bring myself to do the same.

You do realize that on virtually every event cuts are taken my most drivers, in fact on many corners if its is possible it becomes essential as mud builds up on the line due to the top guys cutting so as a event goes on if you are running down the feild the cuts get bigger and bigger others wise you wouldnt stay on the road.
So far from being wrong its the exact opposite its by far the norm.

To a certain extent, yes -- but for me it's not enough to start cutting corners. So... I avoid it.

Ibiza: My target was to keep it clean and watch my lines to ensure a sub 6 minute run. Did all kinds of mistakes - even clutching instead of braking for a hairpin (that was fun). 6.01:9 in the end, which actually puts me 4th. Still, really disappointed with myself. As always - I need to improve my consistency.

Well this is becoming quite tiresome.

In my practice runs, both of them, I made sure I matched the default setup values before driving. I managed a 2:42.2 while driving clean, so I reckoned I could push for a 2:39 in the daily... but the car felt completely different to drive once I attempted it, while gear ratio was left at default? Embarrasingly short 1st gear, 2, 3, 4 being alright, and 5th being too long. I'm pretty sure the "workshop bug" is not to blame, since I have never downloaded any setup from anyone. All my setups are my own, and none of them uses the default gear ratio.

Needless to say I crashed.

Codies, can we please have a default car setup lock for daily events or something? Why does it even change to begin with?

In the event that this is fixed, I would also like quite a few of the default setups to be fixed to make sense with the characteristics of the car and what type of event it is. I understand that they can't be great setups due to rewarding people with setup knowledge, but some of them are lols. Pretty sure some cars deault setups still have a high ride-height on tarmac, unless that was addressed.

Run was going really well until I stalled over a corner in section 3 and stacked it into a tree, wasted about 8-10 seconds with that incident and then clipped another tree later on making me lost majority of my speed. I think without those my 22 seconds behind gheed could have been about 10-15 behind, top 30-40. Video below! Will never get bored of driving the '95 though <3

Subaru: Reading the above, I don't know which setup I had, but it felt like driving a boat with hiccups. Didn't want to turn and everytime it landed after a jump it bounced two more times. Currently 49th.

Wager: That car on that stage!? It's a complete suicide run! And I survived! Hah! Currently 37th.

That sounds like the default subaru :D Had to slow down way much to get some of the jumps and turns right because it would just bounce the front end from bumps and couldnt turn at the right time.

this definitely needs to be sorted as while default maybe bad a good setup also is a exploit by using the bug.some setups dont matter too much but on some tracks can give you a big advantage.

also some of the set ups on steam even by fast people are not that great. what should of been done with this is copy players set up for the track. then you would get the exact track.how easy is it to just make up a crappy one just say this is what i use.when it isnt.

not saying all do that but copying a players config would be better and what most other car games use.

Went for the pikes peak daily for the lols, no practice before hand just to see what i could do. First run full of mistakes and drove once into the spectators, 2nd run took its safer and managed a mistake free run. OK.

(Delta daily jumped the start, hit alt-f4 :D )

Both my PP runs were nice. Both were 8:25's, so I'm happy with the consistency - but not too sure about whether the times are good enough to win or not. It remains to be seen.

Delta daily went better than expected. I beat my PB of 3:29 by 7 seconds in my practice run. "Oh ok" was my reaction, and I decided to go for the daily, managing a 3:19.2 - trying to go as fast as I dared while also staying on the road. Happy with the time.

Oh dear....

Struggled with both, felt Un-natural.
had a power out while doing a run over the delta stage so just went for it when back online.  Realised halfway through, that my steering linearity was bumped up from experimenting on Sunday night.

Fixed now...  Feels ok again, should have been 2nd

Owner's went bad. Lost the left rear somewhere in the first sector, then - for some reason - couldn't repair it. Had to slide slowly through the whole stage  :|

RX...well, as I expected, still broken. I'm not going to kill my wheel with this BS. Come on guys, how hard can it be to fix one damn FF error you managed to build in with your very last update? This game has only gotten worse since you decided to give it to the console peasants, while also throwing free stuff at them we're probably not going to get. You're falling right back into your old patterns, Codies!  :/

So yeah. Owners daily went pretty well. World record at the same time.

My owners' club disappointed me a bit. I was happy enough with the setup; I dialled it all in on my first go to suit my driving style. Managed a 2:54 in practice, which I reckoned was good enough. On the event itself almost every single corner had a mishap in it. Trying too hard; turning in too early, turning in too late, misshifts, brake too late - you name it. Disappointed face enabled when I crossed the finishline - which turned into a grin of disbelief to find out I only lost a single second to gheeD.

I'll take that.
