So yeah. Owners daily went pretty well. World record at the same time.

Fantastic run, wow! Can you share any tips on setup, I have the Pug Evo but am struggling to keep it in check?

Daily, Verbundsring reverse in the group A Escort... in the wet. Not as bad as I expected it to be. My only mistake was taking the tight chicane in 2nd instead of 1st due to brainfart (...) so I missed out on a 3:15 thanks to that. But a 3:16 is nice too! I suspect the people really good on V2 tarmac can pull 3:13's.

I really fluffed the daily, understeered everywhere! I'm really tired this week though so its definitely shown. Trying to finally tame the T16 properly for the first time with an shifter and clutch while tired should not be attempted I have concluded.

Yeah, it bogs down badly in the tight ones.  I'm happy enough with my one-hit-wonder to be 3rd

Wager : Horrid default yucky thing. No good, 2nd, & a mile off 1st, but not surprised to be at all

Today's Daily Stage. The brakes felt very weak which caught me out in a few places but overall it was a solid run. Looking specifically at no assist controller times it was within the Top 10. I'd have probably gotten Top 10 overall were it not for 1 or 2 small mistakes; I lost at least a second towards the end by handbraking too hard on a hairpin.

Well i can tell from that video that i didn't have even close to the default setup, no wonder it felt so sloppy, like driving on ice :(

Alt-F4'd the Evo X daily because it bored me. What a hippo of a car.

EDIT: Oh look, the 037 in an owner's club daily... something to look forward to later on!

Got my 1st top tier daily result today in the Evo, pretty happy with that after 6 previous attempts

I thought my 037 daily in Greece would go well as I managed a 3:03 in practice with very clean driving, but nope. Distracted by neighbour bonking his wall. I'm going to give him the finger tomorrow.

Yeah, so driving the Evo with some kind of low and stiff tarmac setup. That was "fun".

037 went better, but predictably spun and ruined what could have been a decent time.

Loved the EVO X stage today. Kept trying to shift up with the sequential, but later realised that was the H+Clutch setup. It was great fun.

I'm nowhere near the top, but hey whatever. I'm liking this stuff.

Fair amount of cutting by today steam No.1. Is it legit ?
I've just watched the current top three for this daily and didn't notice any untoward cutting? On this particular stage there's been examples of far more aggressive cuts than the current top times.

Generally speaking there's two camps on this:
- One thinks that everything that doesn't result in a reset is fair game.
- The other camp holds that you should have "contact" with the road, unless there's a pacenote specifcally encouraging you to 'cut'.

Personally I'm somewhere in between. There's been several examples from historic WRC drivers that have gone completly off-road to shave a second off their stage time. On the other hand I think the stage design could have been better in places, to ensure a "level playing field" within the game in regards to leaderboard times and so on.

If the game deems it to be legal, then it's legal.

You can play by a moral code if you wish (nothing wrong with that at all), but if people are playing to win then using every legal advantage possible is a must. The solution if something is against the "spirit of the rules" regarding track limits is to make it against "the letter of the rules", by allowing such cuts to give penalties.

If anything, it highlights areas where changes can be made and if Codemasters is serious about making a game for the competitive player than they'll look into it.

Could be worse however, Forza Motorsport 6 has a small but dedicated hotlapping community and they've found all sorts of track limit exploits:

Short cuts are quite in order.........

Off topic: please add Vauxhall Chevette, TR7, Saab and Fiat 131 with co-driver in back seat to the game :)

306 Maxi daily, Kontinjärvi. Nice combo. 6:02 in practice. Pushing for a sub-6 minute time on the daily, steering starts overreacting to inputs after the big jump, and I lost about 5 seconds instead. k

Ahhh. After a decent P1 in the daily two days ago on Waldabstieg, I identified another nice opportunity to perform well with keyboard: Subaru at my favourite Monte-Carlo track. Unforunately, I crashed twice in the tarmac section in the begining. The snowy climb afterwards went nicely, but I already had lost more than 3secs there. Sub 6:40 would habe been easily possible. P2 insted for me at the moment..

Didn't practice either daily, decided to go straight in. Was a mistake for the 306, it went well for the first minute or two then I underestimated the left boot braking on a corner and went straight into a lamppost. Also did the same and went into the river under the bridge. Just went downhill from there!

The 01 Impreza however, I always seem to do reasonably well with it on Monaco when it pops up, currently sitting at 24th and could have easily gotten higher without the few mistakes.

The Subaru 2001 daily went ... well, alt-f4. I couldn't get a clean run in practice because the car angered me due to how easy it was to drive, so I hopped straight into the daily. Where, funnily, everything went perfectly. I think I was on course for a 6:37, even. Got overconfident and started taking corners at 2 gears higher instead of one. Clipped a wall with the back, puncture. No point proceeding.

Most of you probably didn't watch that vid, but some nice Escorts, Stratos and 131's in there :)

Funniest part is Walter Rohrl and his strategic co drivers position! :D

First daily with FWD Peugeot went as expected, I crashed, burned and died, and then finished with 3 wheels over the finish.
The Subaru Daily went very well, the car drove very nicely on ice and snow, somehow the car feels made for it, placed 14th, so not too bad.

Daily 1: Slid across the road on two wheels hoping I won't go over, not once, not twice, but three (3) times. I blame the car for being too fun.

Daily 2: Felt good until that one corner with the snowbank that launches you into the rocks on the other side of the road (you know the one). I landed on top of the edge of the road, had to reset but lucky I didn't go over, probably would have DNFed.

Daily: PP. 405. Skipping because the 405's default setup is horrid with massive understeer and a topspeed of 216 kph.
Delta: Wrecked, as expected with an R4 car. Trying to take corners at a somewhat decent speed makes the thing understeer off mountains, apparently. Shame since I had a 6:02 in practice with a big offroad moment.

Hillclimb, popped tyre second corner on first run when I flew into a tree, second run went ok, not great time but barely played hillclimb so I was happy with it.

Delta went great, 25 seconds behind 1st, crest tells me I should stop lifting as much or tapping the brakes compared to first. Sitting in top 40 though so thats ok.
