The Dirt Daily Thread

Weird thing is, it's a sample :)  No idea about the Seat though, that grates at high revs.
When driving the Kadett I always think to myself "Need. Bigger. Exhaust."

It's interesting to look at the crest on diversity of every players runs.

I didn't know you could be more effective by braking more early & accelerate more late.

Daily: 3:04 on my second practice run. Went into the daily, pushing hard.. puncture and alt-f4 on the first jump.

Daily was ok, when I finished, I was 10th with 10 seconds behind the leader.
Wager was not that ok, ripped of the front right tire after the first split and continued on 3 tires. So far looks like I'm in the bottom tier, but maybe that'll change once more people do the event.

Wager: Speak about fortunate circumstances - i was testing various car setups on this stage/conditions combo. Didn't help me not suck, though.

Focus 2007 daily? I skipped a braking point and went speed dating with a tree and an ambulance.

Focus: Only 11 seconds behind top spot after smashing into a rock in that quick 5/6-left/right section. That's pretty good by my standards! Currently in 26th.

Wager: Clipped something and spun early. Had to wriggle the car back and forth like Austin Powers to get going again. 10 seconds behind not too bad, and will make the top tier. All's well that ends well.

Daily, Manta 400 in Monaco... pretty clean run. Sadly I had some noob understeer moments, so my current first spot won't last long! I enjoyed it thoroughly though. The Manta is very nice to drive.

Well well

D1: stepped on gas pedal too early in the tricky left hairpin towards the middle of the course and smashed against the rocks on the inside. Abandoned afterwards, but more than a low 6:30 wouldn't have been possible for me anyway..

D2: went pretty nice until the last difficult corner where I lost maybe 2 secs. However, no chance top compete with the top guys even with a clean run in this car.

Manta daily: had a good practice run 6:37, think I have a recording of it, but on the actual event I messed up losing precious seconds ended up with a mere 6:40, the Manta drives well, but I think I can post a better time with the 037.

Wager stage: was pushing too hard, took a wrong line through a corner, smashed my rear wheel, I retired.

I just experimented with brake bias on the mini in RallyX and wow, huge difference. The ability to get the cars nose in without the snappiness of the handbrake is crucial and I was able to increase lap times significantly and move to professional series. Pumped on this step forward.

I think you've confused the daily event thread with another. :)

You are quite correct!

Nudged out Superdorfer in the Wager, for once. It is far too satisfying to do a Wager well. Also helps that most of my day has been horrid, so a good wager feels far better than usual.

Started off with owners' club. Myriads of small mistakes meant that I lost a good 4-5 seconds. I'll try to forget this event.

RS200 went a bit better... quite a lot better. Still some small mistakes towards the end, but I don't think it affected my overall time that much.

Daily 1: HAHA, my most stupid finish ever in a daily, well i did even quit the session. Was on a 5:48/49run and threw it all away on the very last blind jump, 5secs before the finish line. While landing, I hit the inside bank by some milimeters and went off to have a detailed look at some greece flora to the right.. What a pitty.

Owner's club. Fuck. Went wide into a downhill corner with the rear just slightly ON a bank, not over it... and there was an invisible wall, kapow. Puncture and ALT-F4. Had such a nice time in practice too.

Don't know whether I'll do the main daily with the Fiesta on the same stage as its default setup on gravel is terrible. Way too soft, not level in the corners.

Owners club, another start line malfunction made me start way behind the Start Line, so when I reached the first corner ( 4 RIGHT, line) I was going faster than I had in Shakedown, nudged the side but managed to collect it, this affected my already poor concentration levels and I made numerous mistakes throughout the stage, for a time of 6.35 LOL.

D1: was doing well until the spot i always mess it up on this stage: the fast downhill chicane in sector 7. Flipped the car there, but decided to continue. At least, the flip looks pretty funny in CREST.

D2: sent the beast into the woods, so hard to control and add consistency to that car to me and my controls.

I decided to tackle the Fiesta daily after all. Two practice runs trying to adjust to the god awful default setup. Should have done ten. I wrecked halfway through.

Please Codemasters, make the default gravel Fiesta less of a boat.
