That generic shift light thingy found in many of the cars.. I really can't stand it. It's ugly :(

Delta: What was up with the incredibly long gearing on the Stratos? It's Greece! I think I got it into 4th on the long straight. Apart from that 3rd was the high gear. Currently 18th.

Integrale: All went smoothly until the "3 left, bad camber". Then the paddle shifting delay caught me out (again). Didn't come down to the gear I was expecting and smashed into the cliffwall. Puncture. Retired.

Daily: Pretty good run in the Integrale, had a bit of an accident near the end, involving sliding backwards on the roof :D But somehow managed to recover without hitting the spectators or resetting, so didn't lose too much time there

Delta: Had a great run in the Stratos, just love this car on this track. Did a 6:40 and I'm currently 36th out of almost 1500

I had a great run on the wager :D
Finished with a top 30 time, which is an achievement considering I haven't been able to play much in the last few weeks.

Daily... Sierra, Monaco. Quite horrid default gearing. Never got past third gear in my 2 practice runs. Set a quite sweet time with clean driving, was about to head into the daily when there was a knock on my door. I get up, open the door, lots of blabla. 3 mins later I sit down, start the daily... and all my rhythm was gone. Poor driving followed by an Alt-F4.

So that's two things on my list of what not to do before attempting dailies:

1: Don't drive on an empty belly.
2: Don't afk between practice and daily!

Haha!

Mondays..

D1: rwd is not my discipline, after two ok sectors several mistakes and a crash just before the finish, went sideways over the line..

D2: nice opportunity to perform well in the hidden wager. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a ride full of errors, cost me at least 2 secs.

In the daily crashed in the first corner and was stuck perpendicular to the road, between two stone walls, with about 30 cm space to move. After a 15-point turn it was pretty much game over. Went on trying to drifr and fool around, that also didn't quite work out :D

Atleast the wager went better

D1 was actually pretty good for me, though i didn't get the feel for the car and wow the default gearing is tall!  10 seconds off put me a lot further down the field than i thought though!

D2 haha, nice stage choice, managed 8 seconds off and much further up where i thought it should put me.

Just about the opposite of me, @F2CMaDMaXX !

D1 I was 7 seconds off, which was a lot higher than expected. I generally find that I often do better in the cars I'm not comfortable in, as it makes me slow down and take the safe approach.

D2 Never got comfortable with when the car would oversteer and when it would understeer. Bumped into stuff with both the front and the back. 11 seconds off, which was more than I hoped for with that car/stage combo.

Daily: R4 Subaru... bugged suspension. Sigh. Well, at least I survived the stage... and on top, too. It will not last because I am so slow in these cars.

Delta: My practice run went very well in this. 3:20 was what I managed, and I still felt I had more to give. On the event itself I tried way too hard, and in an attempt to make up some time, I made even more noob mistakes. I ended up turning in just a little too early in that fast uphill lefthander before the hairpin, and Dirt Rally's bad V2 physics made short work of my car by lifting the nose and throwing me into the field on the other side. Alt-f4, baby!

D1: went for the lead and pushed hard. Two silly small mistakes in the first sectors killed my ambitions. Out of anger, I did even cut the chicane. So P2 for now is kind of an exploit.

D2: one 3:02 time attack run and afterwards off to the woods after a few curves haha!

What the heck was up with the Subaru setup? Felt like I was getting pulled around the road at random intervals. Normally I don't complain about setups because I'm fine with the defaults most of the time, but there's no way that was default, it felt like it was bottoming out randomly.

The R4 Subaru have always been sketchy; there's been numerous complaints ever since it was implemented about it bottoming out.

Out of anger, I did even cut the chicane.
Great, another cut to report...

That's two today alone. A friend on Steam linked me a picture of a cut where he gained 2 seconds.

I'm afraid Darren's out sunning it up in Florida this week :(
The great thing about emails is that they stay in his inbox... ;)

You admit feeling the need to take shortcuts to gain an advantage, yes. Bravo. Respect.

I prefer Monte over Germany, and there are no shortcuts possible.. But anyhow, I don't want to start an argument on this issue and rather take you and your superb driving as inspiration. So good luck for your next dailies Porkhammer.

Sorry if I came off as rude, I get irrationally angry over cuts. :P Good luck to you as well.

Daily: With a combination of luck and luck the Subaru bounced where I wanted it to. Not a particulary clean run, but I hit the apex on the hairpin where a lot of the top ten went wide (looking at Crest). That probably gained me my current 5th spot. Excellent. :)

Delta: Didn't realize how much grip and braking power I had until I was halfway through the stage. Then overdoing things when I tried to adapt on the fly. Currently 24th, which is not bad at all in my book.

Having read about the R4 problems, i was wary, but i was running super smooth, i felt like a real rally driver :D  problem with that, is i get all excited and start thinking about recording the replay, coming here and bragging etc etc.

So yeah, two massive spins trying to hunt squirrels in the last stretch :(

Mini went well, top 100 at least, i feel like i'm using the 2/5 upgrades version of the car that i own there.
