The Dirt Daily Thread

Managed to record both the dailies, but the Sierra run was waay too choppy, so I chose not to upload that one, was my best run though, but the Monaco daily is in the replay thread, got a face-cam now, so you watch my magnificent game-face.

Daily 1: The default Sierra may be awful, but still miles better than "randomly selected tarmac setup" Sierra. Next.

Daily 2: The Subaru was far better. The driver was not. Next.

No idea what happened with my Subaru!  It was like driving on ice (on the not ice parts)  for the first time ever, i failed to beat the community delta, it was *really* bad!  Like, 1343rd place!!

Sierra finished 53rd overall, so no real complaints there.

Did the first set of dailys this week (it's been a busy week). The wager was nothing special, had a few mistakes, currently 100th out of 600.
Main daily went really well. Was testing the new Pikes Peak before that and the Mini just felt so responsive. The run itselft felt fast, and I guess it was, I'm currently 35th out of 1686

Daily 1: posted a good time, currently 4th position, but I guess I'll drop somewhere to 10th or lower by the end of the day, did okay for my driving style, I'm pleased.

Daily 2: Had a good start, but was a bit slow, did a lot of throttle tapping during the stage to be very careful, I could have been better, but halfway through I jumped over a bump and had a weird landing which forced my foot too hard on the peddle and my pedals started moving off (they are not bolted in position (Logitech Driving Force GT has no bolt points unfortunately). So that kinda broke my concentration, hit a ditch and a tree, had to crawl out of there and back on the road, I bet I lost a good 3-4 seconds on that. But all in all, was 8 seconds quicker then my practice runs, so I am pleased with that run aswell.

Daily 1: Hit too many walls. I was caught out by massive understeer despite two practice runs, so not happy with the time at all. Could easily have been 3 seconds quicker.

Daily: Porkies Greece setup loaded, which has rear brake bias... on Monte Carlo that's a very bad idea when driving a Group B car... very bad. So bad it resulted me going for a trip down the valley 3 minutes into the stage.

Owners: 037... well, I made it to the end. I call that a success, especially after I couldn't do the same on my favourite location xD

Mneh owner's daily went even worse than the main daily. Didn't upload it.

This summer heat is killing me. Too warm to drive.

Owners didn't go so well. Had some little mistakes in the first half of the track and about 3 sectors to the end punctured my rear right tire. The 037 is already hard to drive on the best of it's days, but driving with a rear tire missing it's like trying to balance on a slack line while also hula hooping and juggling oranges while someone is throwing tennis balls at you, or in other words, it's damn hard :| Well, at least I ended up top of mid tier, which is ok, considering the circumstances

The main daily went a lot better. A bit understeery at places, but generally a solid run. Plan on doing the monthly with the S4 as well. And 113th out of 2778 is not too bad either

Ahh the Lancia S4 Daily on Route de Turini: What a nice combination! Unfortunately, my amibitions ended already in the first sector, couldn't believe it. However, being frustrated, I did the event again in a customized race and set a new world record on Route de Turini, 6:23 with default setup. But probably, it won't last for long.

Daily: The default setup on Polo is so bad... I can't drive that car without my own setup, honestly. It just... blergh
Delta: Black holes, black holes and black holes. And then a bit more. And some. I'm bad in Sweden beyond measure xD

Daily: Evo X on Wales, surprisingly comfortable setup for it, though gearing was too long. Scored 6:11.851 and I'm very happy with that result, since I'm generally bad at Wales (when it comes to driving over bumps fast, I need more quick reaction precision than what I currently can do with a gamepad) and went often in a "caution" mode.

Wager: Let's say that I liked the setup, but everything else didn't like me.

I would like to see at least one retry for Daily events or at least a Shakedown try... Maybe just one.  Why, because sometimes my time sucks...LOL.  Also, It would be nice to have more than one stage.... Maybe 2 or 3.  I enjoy the daily said and would like to see more.

Finaly, if you'd like to see weekly specials events... Vote YES on my Poll under DR Suggestion Forum.

Those daily's, that use your own car and have setups, also have shakedowns. And nobody's stopping you from doing a test run in Custom evens.

As for my dailys, had a very angry vager run (because of the horrid weekly I did prior to that), had a few mistakes (one sidecrash into a tree and one spinout), but was an ok run.

R4 daily: Ragequit after a crash

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

My Pug Maxi Daily on Greece in short. Lost 3 positions due to a silly last split mistake, though.

@KickUp can something please be done about the RS200 steering? I'm using 300 degrees of rotation and no matter how much I tweak the setup, I only use 50 degrees of it with the RS200. It is ridiculously sensitive and caused me to wreck daily 2. Impossible to drive.

Daily: Pikes Peak full tarmac with Quattro... @Hatward has definitely been reading my mind when he was setting up the calendar for the dailies :D
Naturally, this being me, I don't do practice, so scored a modest 8:16 on the 1st run. Surprisingly, the game loaded the actual default setup, which is strange considering that I have my Workshop setup for it after all... and the bug hasn't been fixed from what I saw in other events.
Anyway, 2nd run brought me an 8:11, which for a default setup was pretty darn nice. I was going cautious in some nasty spots, so 8:09 is definitely possible if one were to push hard everywhere.

Owners: I've found a perfect way to describe the RS200. It's a light boat in a storm. Slightest of movements and it just goes haywire. Utterly dreadful to drive. Honestly, I think I prefer the Quattro in Finland over RS200, at least it handles when it has the contact with the ground... which is quite rare, I admit xD

After skipping the last few Pikes Peak dailies, I went straight for the race today. To my surprise, handling felt differently and very grippy. I had a pretty clean drive in run one by coming in just below 8:20. In run 2, I pushed a bit more and past below 6:05 after seven sectors. Just afterwards, I hit the outside wall just after the tricky right with the viewpoint on the left.. game over. Would have been around 5secs faster I guess, but still some seconds behind P1. However, I have no real technique for sharp hairpins, I most likely lose most of time there. Anyone has tips how to master those hairpins properly? =)

Ibiza, Monaco... didn't upload as the driving and stage time was garbage. This whole hypersensitive around the center steering that some cars have needs to go. It ruins my stuff. I have 300 degrees of rotation, so I'd like to use all of it - not 40-50 degrees of it. That's stupid.

Daily: Fiesta, Finland. Managed a 3:00 time while just keeping good lines, so decided to push it on the daily. Bad idea. Again its soft default setup ruined things almost from the word get-go. Alt-f4 ftw.

Delta: Had a good run in practice, clean... figured I could repeat it in the daily. Nope. Slower. Therefore I am unhappy with it.
