Another Pant Mawr daily, this time at least there is only one, the other one is Monte Carlo, but still, that's like 7 Pant Mawrs in 4 days :D
Anyway, in yesterday's wager got a 3:00;9 with the Fiat on... yup, you guessed it... Pant Mawr. Pretty happy with that. A bit sloppy first half followed by a tighter second half. Could've gotten under 3 minutes, but this is good too

Is the Scooby gearbox so long or the bug with workshop setup being used in dailies is still not fixed? Not that bad for me, though I was feeling like driving a diesel engine on low rpms :D 14th so far with 3:16

Pant Mawr - I've rolled on the 4 left before the chicane through post. Wasn't bad without that.

The Subaru's default gearing has a too short 1st gear, and much too long 5th gear. It's a bit wonky like that.

Daily: 1995 Subaru, Monaco. Pretty good run. Hard to tell whether it was a superquick time though, I always struggle to tell whether I'm quick or not in a car that understeers.

Delta: Peugeot 306 Maxi, Wales. Again, understeer - but at least setups were enabled so I could remedy this to a certain extent. The run itself felt sloppy at places, but happy to have survived with a 2:37.3. An awesome run can definitely dip into the 2:35's though; the kitcars are bizarrely quick, even on gravel.

I was chuckling to myself after I noticed another Pant Mawr daily, it immediately reminded me of this thread!

Totally fluffed one of the last hairpin rights in the Subaru daily and, instead of rotating the car, I ran very wide and straight  into the fence on the exit of the corner. Never crashed there before, so I had no idea said fence was actually wood. Went straight through the fence and got the slow motion screen of doom. "car unrecoverable". Bugger, I have bought great shame to the mighty 555!

I note that a lot of you use the practice runs before doing the Daily: I always forget and just jump straight in!

Shakedown? I never use that due to the bug. I practice the stage in custom event before jumping into the daily. It's the only way to fight for a victory, sadly.

Daily: RX - skipped.
Owners' club: RS200, Pant Mawr (surprise surprise) - spent about half an hour trying to make a setup that got rid of the strange mid-corner understeer, but alas... I failed. Went for the daily anyway. Understeered into a bank and got a puncture. No point proceeding.

Yeah, shakedown is what I meant. Didn't realize there was a bug associated with it: not that it matters as I always forget and just head straight into the daily anyway!

RX is good news for me: managed to get a couple of really good results in RX dailies.

After shakedown you sometimes get to start 2-3 car lengths back. Happens maybe 5% of the time, so quite irritating.

Even worse is the rare occurrence where the car suddenly veers off to the side when moving up to the start, leaving you having to start the rally by reversing back on to the track.

Throw away a 5:55 with the fiesta and a +/-5:52 with the Metro in the upper section. Luckily, I am playing computer games and not driving a real rally car =)

Man, the Fiesta's default setup really puts me in a bad mood. It's so stupidly soft that I can't corner the way I want to, it would rather flip over like some dumb, fat, prehistoric animal. All I could manage in practice was a crappy 5:52 - so I decided to push in the daily. 3 corners in it, unsurprisingly, tips over. Because the default setup is daft.

I would like to have a word with whoever came up with this.

Nice daily stage today, Sweden - Lysvik. With the Renault 5 though. Not a fan of this car. Understeer and snap oversteer handling characteristics is not an attractive trait in a rally car. Still, I managed to finish... 6 seconds off my target time, but yeah. Too much hesitation coupled with too many snowbank cuddles.

Actually... it's both.

Both Dailies went... not so well. The Renault box is just a car I do not like and never will, which resulted me finishing 1m30s behind the current leader... without getting a puncture. Got stuck at the snowbanks few times though -_-
The Wager... well, let's say that having something that felt like a Monte Carlo setup on that particular stage in that car was not what I would call "well suited"... in all possible meanings.

Finally all of my cars ar 100% upgraded :)
While not a bad result, I'm a bit dissapointed with my Pikes Peak run. Missed my sub-8 minute goal by 1.9 seconds. And I got that 8:01.9 including a crash, so there was more there. My PB with thw 208 T16 before the wipe was 7:52 (iirc)

Sweden-Stratos combo went well. Had a few sloppy test runs and a clean timed run. 18th out of 500 is not bad at all

I too had a pretty good Stratos run in the Sweden daily. Tried to keep it nice and tidy, but the sound of the engine almost begged me to push a little. So I did. Clipped a snowbank briefly. Back to clean driving! Haha! But the time was good, I think.

had a friend over. beers, icecream cones. we celebrated my 1400 hours of dirt rally, and... i forgot what the main celebration was, but as i am slightly buzzed in the head, i soon realised that it was a bad idea to attempt the 037 daily in sweden, spun very early on. the 205 daily went a lot better though, only a couple of bad hairpins. the 205 is so easy to drive compared to the 037, haha

on the plus side, the friend liked dirt so much that he too shall start playing it. more dirt for the people!

After a nice daily yesterday with the Subaru on gravel and P2, being the fastest European haha, things did not go so well today. I was on a comfortable P2 run behind this drunken driver, when things went terribly wrong in the LAST turn: crazy 360 spin, looks like dancing in CREST! Very funny to look at it with double speed :D

I had a total disaster with the Subaru last night! I went flying into the stage and fluffed up my line about four corners in, came off the road, clipped a tree and, despite trying to recover, I hit the reset line. Reset back onto the stage with a 15 second penalty but, rather unfortunately, the collision with the tree had destroyed my headlights! So I had to do most of the stage in the dark. Managed to finish though, so a small victory from that!

I have a couple of cars to finish upgrading tonight, then I shall attempt to make less of a mess of today's daily!

Same same, but different.. Was 1sec behind P1 after 3 sectors, when I smashed the Alpine against the wall, 4 turns before the finish line..

Alpine on wet Monte... well, went ok-ish. I forgot that I can hammer the brakes down on default setup easily, so quite a few of my braking points were horrible.

Jeep mini-van in Sweden though... I can't recall the last time I was more out of the road in Sweden than I was on it xD
