Delta daily: Polo in Germany. 2:33.1 in practice, 2:33.9 in the event... because of misshifts and clipping a rock right at the end. Disappointed.

Powershifting is no picnic, but the results are generally worth it. I just wish DR wasn't so picky about this whole clutch thing; if the shift and clutch aren't perfectly synced, it leaves you in neutral... which is just stupid.

Daily: Group A Impreza, Finland - way too many near-death experiences, but happy to have survived.
Delta: C4, Finland - nice and steady.

Today's daily 1 was extremely tricky.

Owner's club, Hyundai in Wales - Made a mistake right after the second watersplash, lost control but regained it eventually - but overshot the hairpin by about 900 miles, losing any chance of setting a 5:40... and thus there was no point to carry on.

I wish this thing didn't have so much grip. Even with a stiff setup, it just handles like a waterbed, and starts tipping over if you corner too quickly.

Saw that the first daily was in the 037 and I wasn't in the mood for smashing a Lancia into the scenery, so I skipped that.

Hyundai went OK. Had a silly moment and a half spin in the latter half of the stage, that placed me in the mid-20's in the standings.

Daily: RX - skipped.
Delta: Stratos, Monaco - wow. This car is so incredibly tame compared to the 037, there's just no comparison. I could push it and it didn't even try to murder me. Even got away with a few mistakes towards the end.

Ok then.

Daily: 205, Monaco - slippery stuff. A bit too many mistakes for my liking, but I guess the time turned out alright.
Delta: S4, Germany - not feeling this car on tarmac. It understeers and oversteers constantly. Annoying to adjust to, so I just went for it. A careful run, but happy to survive.

Well well, the nice dailies are over hehe.

D1: nearly undrivable for me, crashed on the finish straight (!) with a sub 3:10 run.
D2: 2:40.3 in pratice - and in the event ifself: I lost the rhythm already after the hairpin. A crash followed soon.

These Group B cars on tarmac are tricky!

Daily done... Group A Escort (...) in Wales. Impossible to take risks. Going slowly and taking clean lines is the only chance of survival.

Owners' club with the RS200 in Monte went a lot better than expected. It was close to perfect, even if I was too careful in one of the corners.

Escort: There's been some hypersensitive cars lately. The Escort is the complete opposite. It felt like steering with a rudder, and I know nothing about boats. We sunk.

Always nice getting through a groupA Escort stage without a crazy flip.
Managed it today with a pretty quick time.

You know you're having an offday when you're 4 seconds off your target time on a short stage... sigh.

Oh look, a Wales daily. In the M3, no less. Surely that'll work better?

Nope. Slower than practice.

A day to forget.

Daily: Monaco, Maxi ... I ragequit this stage earlier this morning after clipping a wall right at the end and spinning around, costing me six seconds. Of course it had to be chosen for todays daily. Hmpf. Well, a lot less grip this time around - as it was snowing. Quite foggy as well. Just trying to keep this thing on the road really, but small mistakes still happened. Pretty bad time as a result.

Owners' club: Kadett, Germany ... lots of tiny mistakes added up to a 1.5 second timeloss. Happy to finish though.

Moncao: Many many mistakes, but at least a finish. Probably wouldn't have had a chance to fight for the lead even with a clean run.
Germany: Oh my godness.. I am sooo bad at rwd.

But overall happy to have two finishes :)

Daily: Sierra, Sweden. Absolutely borked gear ratios on this thing. 247 kph in 4th gear? Seriously? Well... did my best to adapt. I switched a lot between tip-toeing and pushing, trying to make good use of the turboboost on the fast bits. Minor mistakes were made, but I don't think I lost more than 2 seconds in total.

Yeahh, won yesterday's wager in one of my favourite combinations - R4 on Monte. Was extremely lucky though, as I heavily hit this little outside wall shortly before the two hairpins in the middle of the track. Almost stopped to zero there. With realistic damage model, this hit would have resulted in game over hehe.

Daily: PP - nope.
Delta- Manta - Sweden. Nice. 3:15 in practice with careful driving. Pushed in the daily. 3:17. Ok? Useless, so not worth uploading.

Got "quite annoyed" with the R4 wager: Had a really good run through until about half way into the stage, when I got the back out on the exit of one of the tight corners. Must have clipped a spectator, as I was instantly reset and had 15 seconds added to my time. I then rage drove for the second half of the stage and made a few silly little mistakes.

The placement of the spectators makes me so mad at times!

PP: Could have done soo much better:
First run. Was on a clear sub 8:30 run when I hit a stone and stopped and went off track on the plateau later on - still managed a 8:37 with this run.
Second run: Was really bad for me, never found the flowy rhythm of the first run and gave away a possible lead in the second last hairpin.

Looking forward to next dailies!
