Well, I got tricked by Jen. Again.

Renault 5 daily, Sweden. She calls right 4, not very far into the stage. Thick fog. The right 4 is in fact a right 2. The car happily skips up on the snowbank. Seeing as I don't want to record that kind of unlucky garbage, I just turned the game off instead.

Please look into the notes, it's tiring getting tricked in online events now.

Aaah, an RX daily, time to lower the AI difficulty SO IT ISN'T FAST ENOUGH TO RAM ME AGAIN.

That leading time for RX daily Gamer leaderboard.. uuuh.. i don't think 2m 10s is possible, at least not without an abusable shortcut somewhere.

In other news, my Daily menu glitched out and rewarded me TWICE for yesterday's dailies and weeklies - i went from 400 000 credits to 1.1 million.

oh... is that why I went from 300,000 to 1.1Mil as well?

Looking back at it, i think i forgot how much a single weekly rewards you, and simply got the results screen twice because i didn't do any activity to otherwise save the gained money, as i just logged in, saw results and quit. >_>

Did a couple of stages in the R5 before I did the daily: jumped straight into the Delta S4 and ended up regretting not doing a shakedown to adjust first!  :D

Made it to the end of the stage (eventually), but the S4 is gonna need some paint...

Had a lot of fun with the RX daily today. In fact, I've probably played more RX in D4 than I did during the whole of it's existence in DR. The AI was kind enough to be slow AF so I could get on with my run.

Daily: Evo 6 in Australia. Understeer, understeer, and some more understeer. With understeer on top. Understeer for dessert.

I cannot drive like this. A 4WD car should not feel like a FWD car under any circumstance. Shut the game down after understeering into a fence and spinning around.

Daily 2: Stratos in Sweden. Another failure. Loaded my setup, did a shakedown. Felt about as useless as expected when the car refuses to make use of the 300 degrees of rotation I am using. 50 seems to be its limit. Oh well, jumped into the daily anyway. So of course the car had completely changed handling characteristics, with no changes to the setup. I went off within the first 5 corners.

Lady Luck is a wh*re.

Soo cutting a bit close on the inside in the mitsu daily i plowed over a roadside pole, or so i thought until it glitched the car and threw it in the woods on the roof O.o So thats my daily done DNF'd there.

Please, please, please... from this point forward, don't bother giving an Evo 6 daily the green light again, until that car is fixed. Although it would have helped a little if the majority of default setups for cars weren't absolute tug-boat.

I understand that for faster times people need to tweak their setups for a reward for tinkering, but when the default setups are so bad, it really harms a lot dailies that aren't owners' club, and it could actually harm how the game is received by people who aren't savvy with setups. Even when I'm given the option to tune the car, I'm usually making massive changes to a lot of components anyway, because it's just so far off the mark by default.

I am kinda wondering why are the default setups still an issue. That was a complaint for much of DR's life as well.

The Evo 6 daily.. Eh, due to chase cam i can kinda early see the slow corner to brake for after the long section, the driver called the notes for that corner when i was already in middle of it, and i am 3 ticks in settings for earlier calls. :D
Gamer handling made this enjoyable at least, as i know at just how quickly most cars spin when the rear touches the roadside on Sim handling. Gamer handling does make a lot more things tolerable, even though i am as fast as i was in DR in Sim handling.

I have my notes set to earliest, and still get late notes in places. :(

Yup, my chase cam saves me for some of these. For others my gamer handling saves it lol.

Still feels like a chore to drive D4 because i still haven't found any fix for my stuttering. Though to be honest, my 790 hours in DiRT Rally aren't helping.

I have a feeling this is a problem when one tile transitions to another. Hence the late calls after the long straight tiles.

Also, did anyone notice much less vegetation/trees in the Australia event? It looked quite different from how it use to look. I must say I liked this look better. Was it just a bug?

It's definitely related to tile transition.
Most hearable when you have connected 5 into 1/2. The 1/2 note waits until you reach the 5. And then it's not enough time to brake because the 1/2 is literally a next turn just right after.
Australia and Wales are most unforgiving so most often it happens there.

2x RWD dailies, 2x failures.

The Ascona default setup feels sluggish and daft. Couldn't adjust to its understeer for the life of me.

For the delta daily I picked the Sierra, but no matter what I did to the setup, it still felt stupid to drive. I couldn't adjust to this understeer either.

I could have finished both events but driving like an a** puts me in a bad mood and I refuse to upload or record such trash. I have standards for myself. :P

You can take a screenshot with Steam without alt+tab. Default key is F12 IIRC.

More dailies, more failures.

M3, Spain. Mistake in the final sector, because the default setup is awful. The oversteer I can cope with, but not that god awful understeer. Why set it up like this? Complete waste of my time.

Escort Group A, Spain. Painfully slow. Impossible to see anything in this fog. How people can go fast in this I will never understand.

As of Windows 10 you can get a screenshot automatically saved to \Pictures\Screenshots by hitting the Print screen button on the keyboard, though i'm running the game in Borderless Windowed and haven't tested that in fullscreen mode.

Wow, that M3/Spain daily in Gamer handling... Felt like home, including the part drifting into the spectators due to loving the engine sound so much. :D

Totally misjudged the junction half way through the stage. I was certain it was a hairpin left but I was supposed to go right through  :s

The default M3 setup is really bad when trying not to go sideways. As with the 2001 Impreza it gives me the feeling the boot of the car is filled with water. Swinging slowly back and forth, back and forth.

First daily in a while, Quattro in Michigan. Clipped a bank early on which sent me into a roll. Went over 4 times... carried on, don't think it did too much damage. However I messed up a left six over crest a minute later and hit a tree at 110mph. That definitely did damage

Thats true and all well and good, but I play in fullscreen and alt-tab ALOT all the time. I wont risk alt tabbing in the end of daily stages anymore but the crashing is still issue to be fixed

Daily: Quattro, Michigan. I dreaded this daily. I remembered how this car used to handle with default setup. But they must have changed it because it was pretty nice to drive in the daily. Made a mistake like 20 meters before the finish line though, got a reset. So I just shut the game off.

Owners' club: Evo 6, Spain. Slow. But hey, I finished. So there's that.
