The Dirt Daily Thread

yeah the co-driver calls do need some adjustment still, I found them perfect during the Audi run the other day but I is disappointing when a hairpin call comes with barely time to brake.

This Sweden/Renault daily... lost my chance to win because i got tilted that the slightly uphill "Dip, left 3" tile repeated 3 times in this event.

Only took me 38 hours to memorize like 95% of the tiles game has to offer. Wales is still tricky because of how crazy vertical it is. Drives like a roller coaster.
Yeah some flat roads would be nice once in a while  :s

And the fact Sweden even on the faster half is hilariously bumpy. I feel blessed that Gamer handling exists.

Yep, driving anything but the modern stuff with OP suspension just makes me ragequit Sweden. It should be fast and flowing, not bumpier than fucking Greece!

Daily 1: Sweden, Renault 5. Why is every rear/mid-engined car in the game so incredibly hypersensitive in the steering? It's starting to get on my nerves. I could barely keep the thing on the road, since it refuses to use more than 50 degrees of my 300 degrees of rotation. The Alpine and Stratos also suffers from this, though I guess I should be happy that they spared the 037 of this b*llshit. Anyway, I actually managed to finish the stage, after deciding to drive extremely slowly.

Daily 2: Spain, Group B Quattro. This tarmac.... ugh. With slow cars it's ok, I can cope well with it. But with a fast car like this the crab effect becomes a little too apparent and I just fail to adjust to it. I really, really do not like being sideways when I'm not even sliding. Still, should be happy to finish, I guess. It's annoying though - the few moments I actually feel like pushing, and I just can't.

Renault 5, Sweden: Two spins in the first sector before I adjusted the steering linearity. That kept it facing in the right direction most of the time, with the exception of a few "bumbs" and "dips". Sweden sure need a few new pace notes, like "ramp", "launch pad" and "over cliff".

Quattro, owners: Was a hundred credits short the last time it was available for purchase the other day. :-/

And stuttering, lost an absolutely wonderful wales run to it. Sigh... Foggy Manta was alright, but not satisfying.

K so the Manta needs to be softened the fuck up. It feels stiff as all hell. It also understeers like crazy, and when it's done understeering into the nearest bump to the side of the road, it violently snaps into oversteer. I called it a very unflattering word beginning with the letter F, and then promptly killed the game off.

Adieu.

Had exactly the same experience with the Opel on the Xbox. Slightest touch of a grassy verge sent the car off track, happened about 4 times. Also completely unable to turn the car on a hairpin, even with handbrake. Using logitech g920. Really do not like the in game handling of this car.

Not sure if this is the correct thread but I started the weekly instead of the daily as intended. Seems that when I opened up the game it remembered where i was yesterday (looking at leaderboard for weekly 1) and I didnt check and just clicked expecteing to jump into the Opel Manta. i realised my error and just quit to go back and do the dailies. Then I went to start weekly 1 but it had DNFd me .... even though I hadnt started it ..... aaaaarggghhhh!.

also unable to use my scooby tunes for daily2 as they were set with team rating of over 80

Well at least I managed to finish the delta daily, with my regular amount of f-ups. Like this hairpin entry... come to think of it, that worked out alright:

As is plain to see:

I'm currently 8th I think from yesterday's Landrush, the physics on those 4WD trucks is brilliant. Can get some nice controllable slides going!

Landrush: Hah, nope.

Tiny fwd Peugeot: Made a decent setup, but didn't get the gearing right and had to shift in awkward places. That said, I love these slow cars that match my slow-reacting self. I think I was inside the top 20 for the first time in a D4 daily. (Though I expect I was pushed outside when the event ended.)

Its actually the first time I've driven the car in the game and definitely didn't spend enough time setting it up, came like 750th or something lol

The fog put me on tilt in D4, so i drove the Owner's night daily in DiRT Rally with headlights off, again.

Daily 1: Ruined by a late note. Sent me understeering into the crowd. Shut the game off.
Daily 2: Understeery af, even though I set it up for full oversteer. Failed to adjust accordingly, and the time suffered as a result.

Fuck, fuck, fuckety-fuck.

Daily 1, Sweden. Fulvia. Highly enjoyable. But, as I expected the ENTIRE stage, I got a late note during a fast section towards the end, no time to correct my line. And, instead of being sucked into a snowbank that could possibly have rescued me, were they as realistic as in Dirt Rally, the Fulvia quite happily skipped on top of them, flipped, and I landed facing the wrong way.

Alt-f4. Fuck you, Lady Luck.

There really is nothing I hate more when things go wrong through no fault of my own - aka rotten luck. It happens way too much in Dirt 4 dailies, and 90% of the time it's due to late notes. With them set to earliest.

Fuck.

I was having a pretty near perfect run through until the final sector and the terrible notes ruined the run. I got a call for a right 6 that turned out to be more of a 4 and I went off and hit one of the signs on the outside. Then there was another call for a left 4 which was way too late ( as in I had to panic brake for the turn before the note was finished). Overall I recon that cost me at least 10 seconds in total, possibly more. But that being said I was 50th at time of finishing which I'm quite happy with despite the potential for a top 25 time.

Happy to have survived the S4 daily event in Australia. Though I found myself more often than not braking in the middle of the straight bits out of fear for late notes. I doubt the time was spectacular, but like I said - happy to have survived.

I either have to abandon my current career championship or buy a second s4 just for the daily. Or just not run it at all which is what I'll most likely do.

I thought the dirt daily live had no setups. The buggy race today allows you to tune the buggy between races.

Yeah they only disable it for race 1. Pretty sure it's not intended. Just one of the many parts of the game was obviously not tested.

Daily 1 has always been with default setups, ever since the Dirt Rally days. Equal terms for everybody. If they allowed setups for the buggies their default setups must be truly awful. :D

Owners' club dailies and delta dailies always allows you to set up your car.

It's definitely a bug. Landrush dailies are two races. It correctly disables for first race but not for second.
