The Dirt Daily Thread

Recommended Posts

Decent time in the first daily, although not aggressive enough.

On the night run, the Fiesta just didn't accelerate in the higher gears.

Then I just got an underpowered Fiesta at Hammerstein... (Thought this bug was fixed...)

Unable to reach speeds beyond 145 km/h...

Big rage.

PS.: At Ruschberg, car reached speeds around 190km/h with no big efforts.

Same problem here. Even with a non-upgraded car, you should be able to go faster.

I made a mistake on the "normal" daily - first right-hand hairpin and I turned in too early and hit one of the rocks lightly, bogging the car a little. Had to shift down to 1st gear to unbog it. "That's my daily messed up" I thought to myself, and tried to make the best of it by pushing very hard for the remainder of the stage. Lo and behold I beat my PB with 1.4 seconds, setting a 5:54.3... what the? Don't mind if I do!

Is it upgraded?

Body is 25 characters too short

Nope. Nothing but advanced settings (right now). As Porkhammer commented on another thread that maybe the problem.

But I still think the "stock" car is pretty slow.

Did better than expected in the BMW daily. After driving all morning with Group B, RX and Hillclimb cars, the BMW felt kinda slow (wonder why? :D), no training, just went for it. felt like I was going at an average rate, but the results show I'm currently 15th :| Go figure :D
The Mini daily was ok, I'm still in the top 100

I hate night stages so much. I did many, many practice runs. I think I finished one of them! So me only being 0.1 seconds behind our norweigan friend is a miracle - and only 5 seconds off my PB in daylight. Fraps also decided to act up and drop from 30 fps to 1 for no reason so I had to restart the recording like 598 times.

Protip: Don't use fraps.

EDIT: Owners' club done. Sloppy driving! Also... don't use fraps.

Fraps is not fine when it randomly drops to 1 fps when recording for no reason, and the only remedy is restarting the recording - or it will happily record at 1 fps until the end of time.

Can't you use Nvidia Shadowplay? works fine with me.

Shadowplay considers my GTX570 to be excrement.

My 970 GTX doesn't mind, but then again, it did cost me one kidney.

Anyway, practice daily with escort mkII went okay, 3:13.159  was my best, I then ran the daily, I crashed burned and died after the first bump, so I retired, I'm skipping the owner's daily, it's just not exciting enough with the mini =/

Well I can't access the online events whilst running the PVP beta, but I've done the Mk2 daily on Custom Event and managed to beat Porkys time which i'm pleased with!

I was really looking forward to both of today's dailies. Love the Mk2, and normally feel really comfortable on Germany's tarmac.

Tanked both... Another day, another pair of balked daily rally stages. Almost rage quit on the Mini, and did on the Mk2.

I noticed that it was a while since I'd driven the Mini and that particular stage of Germany.
- I started by sidesmashing the hayball chicane and into the metal fence.
- Then later on my brain reminded me that "this pace note for 'right 3' is a bit slow, keep it in 4th". Nope. ~30 meters out in a field before I got the thing turned around and back on track. Amazingly I didn't kill any spectators or hinkelsteins. Didn't think that was possible in Germany. Probably a bug.

This is not daily but weekly (is there a thread for weeklys?...I´m not sure but I think I remember one...)

Yeah, after completing the 2 daylies I decided to start the fist weekly: RWD Gr.B. Well I choose 037 coz it has 3/4 updates and is fast like a bullet train.

What I found at germany´s wet tarmac has no name... its just simply WRONG. Default wet tarmac setup of 037 is just WRONG, and worse, you have no possibility to setup for the first two stages. Suspension is too stiff and if you enter in oversteer.. oh man, left for dead. Your only chance is reduce in turns to a safe speed and run like crazy on straights.

Once completed the first 2 stages I was be able to setup the car. Softened suspensions, opened a bit differential, antiroll bars at min, just a bit of negative camber and lowered height. Complete difference, much safer and faster run. Normal and predictible car...

But, if you save progress after stage 3 wich is my case, your next run will be with DEFAULT SETUP again (unless you are lucky and saved in service area stage). related: http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/14876/bug-car-setup-lost-in-setup-load-cycle

Daily: No drama. Just going as fast as I could without hitting stuff.
Owners' club: Trying a little too hard in the Fulvia, but I was only a second off my PB so it wasn't that bad.

Finally got access to the online events again. Did the Subaru daily, and was very happy to be under 3 secs slower than Porky, I like that stage but I hate the car, but managed to keep it clean. Can't be bothered with the fulvia though.

I did it finally. A top 100 result, in the Fulvia of course. 58th right now, without practice as usual. And even the Subaru daily was okay, though outside the top 100.

Was terrible in the Subaru...

Thought I'd done OK in the Fulvia, then looked at the leader board and saw that I was 45 seconds slower than Porkhammer.. How much difference does not having upgraded the car make?
