But seriously, noone have the same problem I've had for a few days? This is recorded from the Weekly event shakedown. At about 30 seconds something happens with the engine audio. The volume just drops, all other sounds stays the same. And yes, I know, I'm off topic in my own thread

I've had the same thing happen to me once that I remember, was just for once race and then it never returned.

Quite a nice result for Escort/Monte daily, shouldve practiced at least once before doing it - i didn't realize it is one of my favourite stages. Oopsies.
https://youtu.be/-Xgv21eUOjg Videos for everyone! I'll lose that spot quick, but i hope to be top 10 again. (except the missing credits for the Quattro Daily yesterday, booo)

Both dailys were a FAIL :D With the Pug punctured the rear wheel on the second corner, no use in continuing. With the escort something glitched in the settings, I put it to semi-auto but it wouldn't change gears up, only down. Tried changing gears manually, but in one corner messed up and over the snow pile I went - unrecoverable. On top of all that, I got a new wheel (DFGT), so I'm still getting used to driving with anything more than the 200° my old wheel had.

Daily: A couple of close calls but no major time loss. A fairly clean run.
Owners' club: Same as above, but no major time loss there either. Only 1.7 seconds off my PB in the dry, so it looks like I'll have to improve that soon.

For once I actually did two practice runs and clinched 5th spot on the daily itself, atleast for the moment.

Hand on heart @Porkhammer,  how many practice runs do you usually do? You don't set those crazy times without knowing the stages like the back of your hand ;)

I already know all the stages in my head. The only reason I practice is to get used to the handling of the car(s). Normally it's enough with one practice run, but sometimes I do two, or even three if the weather conditions and car combination is extra tricky. I want to know exactly what it's going to do in what situation. I drive so many cars every day in this game, and it takes a while for me adjust to each cars unique handling. Codemasters have done extremely well in this aspect.

The 205 is by far the hardest to get used to if you want to go flat out - at least for me. I am not at all comfortable in it with maximum attack, so I definitely need to practice more. Don't be surprised if you see my Sweet Lamb time improved by 5 or so seconds today by confident drivers...

Yeah, it's very hard to be competitive without knowing the stages in your head. There is always an odd note or two that will catch you off guard if you attack by notes only.

Daily: Will have to do I suppose. I can't go quickly in the Polo for some reason, and the AI cars were in the way as usual. Granted, it went better than expected. The AI really needs to have its difficulty increased for the dailies though.

Don't know if I'll bother with the other daily as my Manta only has 2/4 upgrades. If it was a long stage my perks could be put to good use, but at such a short stage it's hardly worth the effort of driving through at slug speed.

UUuuugh, the AI in RX at times. I just wanted to take the Joker any other lap than first, but nope, AI rams me into the very first tire wall it sees because JOKER LAP, MUST! Aaand retirement in 5 seconds after starting the daily, woo. -___-*

Manta? Just, slow, after the bad RX luck.

I decided to slam all kinds of perks on my engineers and just do the Manta daily. Surprisingly I managed a 2:46 with only two upgrades, 8th place overall. Awesome! I just hope it's fully upgraded tomorrow when the event is complete...

I hope that the drastic and unpredictable loss of handling when the car so much as touches the edge of the road gets addressed. I know that there should be a loss in traction but I have a hard time believing that real rally cars go apeshit if the throttle is even and they run off by six inches. I can see it if the driver was hard on the gas, but in testing it seems to me that even with smooth, even wheelspin the car just goes into a massive slide even if you were going relatively straight and even, just coasting with a little throttle to keep it even.

Pikes peak was.. scary... being #KeyBro is hard... -shudder-

Lancia 037 on Monte - i used up 6 shakedowns to find a setup to somewhat stop the oversteer... quite a lot of negatives angles on the rear, but after this daily i found something ill love to use elsewhere
The Daily itself? Eehm, was going okay, would be 7m 18s at least without the mishap at the VERY END - i ran into the little checkpoint sign before the very last corner, car ended up static. I have crashed into these signs so many times, damned magnets. :confounded:

The Pikes Peak daily went to fuck, as expected. 90% of the first run was perfect. But then, as always, in the last sector and those high speed bends... I went off. Hit stuff. "Oh well" I thought. I get another chance on my second run. But they didn't let me repair the car for that run, so the car felt fucked from the word go. No point continuing. Shame, because I would have done below 8:40, which is pretty good in the rain.

Owners' club felt like I was driving in slowmotion and bumped into everything possible. After the finish line I had set a new PB. Logic...

Pikes daily was ok. Did a practice event with both runs. On the first one slid around a lot, multiple spins, couple of crashes, still somehow managed to beat the delta time and got 11:20, on the second run tried to drive as clean as possible, without sliding, because if that car starts to go, it goes, and there's almost no catching it :D The smooth driving got me 9:49. So on the daily run also tried to drive smoothly, I did spin out once, but still managed to get 9:52. On the second run did more mistakes so that one was slower.
For the 037 daily also did one training run. Unrecoverably crashed out about halfway so figured I was ready for the daily run :D In the owners daily did a clean run with no major mistakes and currently I'm 38th.
Also I'm finally starting to get the hang of driving with 540° :)

Is it only my mind playing tricks on me, or results from yesterday PP event at dirtgame.com are from 1st run?

So jumped on DiRT affter my holiday and went straight into the Pikes Peak daily, really enjoyed it I must say, the new clutch kick makes Pikes Peak hairpins much more bearable and easier to get round now, managed to take 34 seconds off my first run time and set the current fastest time, expect to get beaten though.

Daily: 8:50 on run 1, 8:48 on run 2.
Owners' club: 4:31 in practice, 4:34 on the daily itself. I don't know how or why. Maybe I tried to keep it too clean. Annoying nonetheless.

A late driven Fiesta daily from Sept 9. Good run, same time as my practice time, while doing a recording of the gameplay itself. \o/
https://youtu.be/h8bbjekk22U

Did the Lancia Delta okay-ish too, but not all are upgrades on it.

Daily: Felt extremely slow but was apparently very fast. Fulvia logic for yous.
Owners' club: 3/4 upgrades on the Sierra but I thought I could have a fighting chance for the top spot, providing I pushed hard. Guess what happened...

Yesh, Fulvia did the same for me. Apparent speed somewhere. I shouldn't even be close to top 10 on a Wales daily, but i've finally somewhat learned Bidno Moorlands.
Oh cool, a controller/wheel filter... I am heavily amused.

Sierra - overpushed, went wide, ran into a tree at 170kmh, knocked both front wheels off. Again. Oops.
